Item? I will? unto my daughter Anne the wife of John Epersly? five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by? my? executors within three months next after my decease
Item I will and devise unto Elizabeth Knatchbull my wife one annuity or
yearly rent of twenty shillings of lawfull money of England for and during
the term of her natural life & after her decease to Anne Dilnott the
Daughter of Nicholas Dilnott for & during the term of natural life to be
.... ... ..... & giving out of my lands & tenements situate lying? & being
in the Parish of Lydden aforesaid To be paid unto them at the feasts of St
Michael archangel? & the annunciation? of the blessed Virgin Mary by even &
equal portions with the first payment to begin & be made at the first? of
the feasts aforesaid which shall next happen after my decease and if it
shall happen the said payment? of the said 20 shillings to be behind &
unpaid part or in all at any the feasts or days of payment on which it ought
to be paid aforesaid
Then? it shall and may be lawful to and for the said Elizabeth & Anne or
their assigns or any of them .... .... to have at ... ... time or afterwards
in & upon the said lands and tenements or any part thereof let ..... &
detrain & the distress & distresses then and there hold sound & ... ...
.... there lawfully to load drive brace? & carry away & the same to detain &
keep until the said annuity of twenty shillings and all over..... as may be
shall be fully satisfied contented and paid)
Item I give unto my said wife one bed & bedstead ready furnished and paul? one linen wheel one woollen wheel the walnut chest in my bedchamber half a dozen plates? of pewter one pewter chamber pot & a single Salt .... ..... ... ... ... ... give unto my said wife one press cupboard in the dining chamber one figured? table in the kitchen? ... a middle brass kettle one spit one mortar and pestle one pair of cropped? ..andirons? standing in the Hall to have hold use occupy and .... for & during the term of her natural life and after her decease I give the above last mentioned .... to Nicholas Dilnot my Grandchild
Item I further give unto my said wife half of my burning woods half my apples and hemp
Item I give unto Mary Baker eldest daughter of William Baker my son in law five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her at her age of eighteen years by my executors
Item I give unto Martha Baker youngest daughter of the said William Baker five pounds of like money to be paid by my executor at her age of eighteen years
Item all other my goods & chattels whatsoever my debts legacies being paid I
give unto my son William Baker whom I make my sole executor of this my last
will and testament and as to my ? the disposition of all and singular my
lands & tenements with appurtenances in Lydden aforesaid I will and devise
these unto Richard Baker son of the said William Baker and to his heirs of
his body lawfully begotten and for default of such issue to William Baker
son of the aforesaid William Baker and to his heirs forever Provided always
and my will and meaning is that the said William Baker my son in law his
heirs and assigns shall all have prudent conduct? & take the rents and
profits of all my said lands & tenements for and towards the payment of all
my said bequests & legacies given & bequeathed as abovesaid until the said
Richard Baker shall attain unto his full age of one & twenty years and if
the said Richard shall happen to die before his said age of one & twenty
years then until the said William Baker shall attain unto his full age of
one & twenty years In witness whereof I have here under set my hand & seal
