Item. I give devise and bequeath unto my son Phillip Laggatt all that my Freehold Messuage or Tenement Orchards Lands and Hereditaments with the appurtenances by Estimation containing two acres be the same more or less situate lying and being in the parish of Penshurst aforesaid and now in the tenure or occupation of John Cooke Gentleman to have and to hold all and singular the said Messuage or Tenement Orchards Lands and Premises with the appurtenances unto my said son Phillip Laggatt and his heirs and assignees forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my said son Phillip Laggatt the sum of forty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain in Trust and for the sole and separate use and disposal of my daughter Ann the now wife of Thomas Drew and I will and order that my said son Phillip shall fulfil and observe the sole and separate demands and directions of my said daughter Ann Drew to be made and given him in writing under her hand and in order to and concerning the payment and disposal of the said sum of forty pounds for her sole and separate benefit and behalf as she shall think fitting and according to her mind notwithstanding her Coverture.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine the now wife of
Charles Scott the sum of fifty pounds of like lawful money to be paid to her within
twelve months next after my decease.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Laggatt the sum of sixty pounds of like lawful money to be paid unto her within
twelve months next after my decease and my will is and I do hereby order that the
three said Legacies of forty pounds and fifty pounds and sixty pounds shall be payable
and paid according as aforesaid by my Executrix and Executor hereinafter named out
of all that mortgage which my brother-in-law Mr Thomas Woodgate made unto
Richard Cambridge upon Land lying near Cold�s Harbour in Penshurst aforesaid and
which I discharged and paid off and the said Richard Cambridge assigned over the
same unto Mr John Constable in Trust for my use and also out of and from all other
my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever which I also bind and charge with
the payment of all my said Legacies.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my said daughter
Anne the wife of Thomas Drew my large Oxford bible with red cover.
Item. I do hereby constitute ordain and appoint my loving wife Ann and my said son Phillip
Laggatt joint and equal Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament
and desire them faithfully to perform the same in all points according to the true and
express intent and meaning of all these presents.
And all the rest and residue of my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever which shall be and remain after all my debts Legacies and funeral expenses and the charges of the Probate of this my will shall be fully satisfied paid and discharged as aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my said Executrix and Executor to be equally divided and taken between them share and share alike and my will intent and meaning is that the share and benefit which my said wife shall receive of my personal Estate by virtue of this my Will shall be in full Satisfaction and Barr of all Dower which she might possibly have or claim into or out of my real Estate.
And lastly I do hereby absolutely revoke renounce and make void
all former and other wills by me heretofore made and declare this present writing
consisting of one sheet of Common paper to be and remain my only last Will and
Testament. In witness whereof I the said Richard Laggatt the Testator have hereunto
set my hand and seal this one and twentieth day of November in the first year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain
France and Ireland Defender of the Faith Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred
twenty and seven. Richard Laggatt. Signed sealed published and declared by the
above named Richard Laggatt the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in
the presence of us who likewise in his the said Testator�s presence subscribed our
names as witnesses to the same.

Probate was granted at London the twenty sixth day of September in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine before the Honourable Edward Kinaston Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable John Bettesworth Doctor of Laws Master Keeper and Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Ann Laggatt Relict and Phillip Laggatt Son Executors in the said will to whom administration was granted to administer all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
