In the Name of God Amen I William Lake of Borden in the County of Kent Yeoman being sicke and weake of body, but of good and perfect memory (blessed be God) doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following
Inpri[mi]s I give and bequeath my soule unto Allmightie God that gave it, trusting to be saved through the meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer, And my body to be buryed in the parish Church of Borden according to the discretion of my loveing friend and Guardian Mr. James Tong of Tunstall As for my personall estate wherewith Allmighty God hath been pleased to blesse me withall I give and bequeath in manner and forme following

Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Mary Sedger, daughter of my Aunt Mrs. Mary Hayward of Borden the sume of one hundred pounds of Lawfull money of England To be paid my said Cosin by Mr. James Tonge the Thirtieth day of May next after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Ann Sedger of Sedger the daughter alsoe of my Aunt Mrs. Mary Hayward of Borden the sume of sixty pounds to be paid to her by my said Cosin Anne within twelve monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my Cosin Mrs. Jane Rusull wife of Mr. Thomas Rusull of Boughton Monchelsey in this County of the sume of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of England, another of my said aunt’s daughters to be paid her within one yeare next after my decease

Item I will and bequeath unto my uncle Mr. Ralph Hayward and to my loving aunt Mrs. Mary Hayward his wife the sume of Twenty shillings apeece to buy each of them a Ring to be paid unto them within six monthes next after my decease
Item I will unto my Cosin Francis Hayward daughter of my uncle Mr. Ralph Hayward of Borden the sume of Thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid her the said Frances within one yeare next after my decease

Item I will and bequeath unto my Cosin John Napleton’s Children of Borden the sume of Forty pounds of lawfull money of England to be equally divided, that is to say Ten pounds apeece to be paid into the hands of my loving uncle Mr. Ralph Hayward of Borden or to his assignes within twelve monthes after my decease to be paid my said Cosins as they shall attaine the age of Eighteene yeares with interest from the time of payment abovesaid, that is to say, within twelve month next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosin Mrs. Anne Hayward of Borden, the daughter of my said uncle Mr. Ralph Hayward of Borden the sum of Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid her within twelve monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my Cosin John Napleton of Borden the elder the sume of tenn shillings to buy him a Ring to be paid him within six monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my Cosin John Lake of Newington the sume of twentie shillings to buy him a ring to be paid him within six monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my cosin Thomas Lake of Newington the sume of twentie shillings to buy him a ring to be paid him within six monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my loving mother in Law Mrs. Martha Lake of Ospringe the sume of twentie shillings to buy her a ring to be paid her within six monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my Aunt Mrs. Jane Stringer of Borden wid[ow] the sume of Tenn shillings to buy her a ring to be paid her within six monthes next after my decease

Item I give unto the poore of the parishes of Borden and Tunstall the sume of twenty shillings to each parish to be distributed according to the discrecon of the Minister and Churchwardens of each parish to be paid within six monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto my Cosin William Lake of Bicknor the sume of Twenty shillings
and to his brother(s) Thomas and John twentie shillings apeece to be paid them within six monthes next after my decease
Item I give unto the Children of my Cosin William Lake of Bicknor the sume of Forty shillings to be paid unto their Father within one yeare next after my decease
Item I give unto the Children of my Cosin Thomas Lake of Hadlow the sume of Forty shillings to be paid unto their Father within one yeare next after my decease

Item I give unto my loving brother Thomas Lake all such moneys as shall be made to appeare in Mr. James Tonges hands of Tunstall, my now Guardian, after my debts and legacies aforesaid and funerall expences shall be discharged;

And for the rest of my goods and chattells which Allmighty God hath been pleased to blesse (me) with all I give unto my loveing Kinswoman Mrs. Mary Sedger of Borden, whom I doe make and appoint to be my whole and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament

A Codicil to be annexed to the last Will and Testament of me William Lake aforenamed;
Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing grandmother Mrs. Parnell the sume of twenty shillings to buy her a ring
And I give and bequeath unto Mr. James Tong of Tunstall my Guardian, and to Mrs. Tong his wife, the sume of Twenty shillings apeece to buy each of them a ring to weare in remembrance of me
