Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing wife (over and above the sume of money that I became bound before our Intermarriage to leave
her att my decease) the Sume of Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executors w[i]thin One month next after
my death
Item my will and meaneing is that if my wife shall have desire to have the plate w[hi]ch was hers before
our marriage the wh was apprized unto me att a certaine value ad taken as part of her
porcon that my Executors shall let her have the same to her owne proper use shee first paying for the
same unto my Executors the summe of Eight pounds of like lawfull money and not otherwise
Item I unto my Sonn Richard Lake the Sume of Two Hundred Pounds of lawfull
money of England to be paid unto him by my Executors hereafter named when the said Richard shall
accomplish his full age of One and Twenty yeares
And my will and direccon [direction] is that my Executor shall allow and pay unto my said Sonn Richard Lake for and towards his
maintenannce & educason untill he shall attaine his said Age of One and Twenty yeares, the yearely
Summe of Six pounds for the use of the said sume of Two Hundred Pounds from the
time of my decease by halfe yearly payments vizt. Three pounds every halfe yeare or
sooner if sicknes or any other urgent occason shall require it
Item I give & bequeath unto my Dawghter Elizabeth Lake all the furniture in the best Chamber
in the howse I now dwell that was her uncle John Lakes (vizt.) the Bedd, bedsteddle, redd curtaines,
rugg & vallance, boulsters, matt & cords & all other things thereunto belonging and the redd Chaires
and Stooles that are Suitable to the same bedd furniture
Also I give and bequeath into my said Dawghter Elizabeth Lake the Sume of One hundred & Fifty pounds of like lawfull
money to be paid unto her by my Executors hereafter named wthin Three monthes next after my decease
Provided and my will and meaneing is That if either of my said Children Richard and Elizabeth shall happen to depart this life before his or her porcon shalbecome payable by this my will Then my will and meaneing is That the moytie [moiety] of the porcon of him or her soe dying shalbe given and paid to the Survivour of them and the other moytie shall remaine to my Executor to his only use and behoofe
Item I give and bequeath unto the Poore of the Parish of Bapchild the Sume of Twenty Shillings to be paid amongst them by my Executor
and att his discrecon wthin one Month next after my decease
Item I doe give and bequeath unto the Poore of the Parish of Borden the like Sume of Twenty
Shillings to be paid in like manner as the Poore of ye Parish of Bapchild
All the rest and residue of my goods, chattells, plate, money, Jewells, debts, rights and dues whatsoever I will give and bequeath unto my Loveing Sonn Thomas Lake paying my debts, Legacies and funerall expences whom I make my Sole Executor of this my last will and Testam[en]t hereby revokeing, disannulling & makeing void all former wills by me formerly made
In witnes whereof I the said Richard Lake to this my Last Will and Testament conteyneing Fower sheets of paper to each sheet thereof have
sett my hand and to the last sheet thereof have affoxed my Seale this Seaven and Twentieth day of February In the Five and Twentieth yeare
