In the name of God Amen the fourth daye of Marche in ye yeare of or Lord God a thowsand fyve hundrethe three score and Tenne [1570/1]
I Robert Lakye of Caulswood in the paryshe of St. Lawrance in th'yle of thanett and in the Countye of Kente beinge sick of bodye, but thankes be gyven to God, havynge my good and perfett remembrannce doe make and ordayne this my present testament in manner and forme followynge
Fyrst I bequethe my soule to all mightye God my maker and redeamer And my bodye to be buryed in the churche yarde of St. Laurance aforesayd

Item I bequethe unto Alyce my wyef ij acres of wheate, ij acres of Barlye and an acre of otts [oats], lyenge all together in asten fylde & more to her three nadds? of Barley lyenge in my close at the west parte of my howse More I gyve unto the sayd Alyce my wyef a Cowe & her caulf, ij ewes, ij lambes, ij platters, a pewter dyshe, ij sawcers and all my brasse, savynge a newe keatle? and a wrack panne, and also xxs of money To be levyed out of my moveable goods and all my Lynnen, savynge one of xpinge [christening] sheete

Item I bequeth to Margarett my daughter half a quarter of wheate and half a quarter of Barlye and a xpinge sheete to be delyvered unto her at the feast of St. Mychaell next after my decease
Item I bequethe unto Joane my daughter half a quarter of wheate and half a quarter of Barlye and ij ewes & ij lambes that her grand father dyd gyve her To be delyvered unto her at St. Mychaell next after my decease
Item I bequeth unto Alyce my daughter a redd heaffer [heifer], ij ewes, ij lambes, halfe a qaurter of wheate, half a quarter of Barlye, a platter, a pewter dishe and a Sawser at th'age of eightene yeares
Item I bequethe unto Elizabethe my daughter a yonge heaffer, ij ewes and ij lambes, halfe a quarter of wheate, half a quarter of Barlye, a platter, a pewter dyshe, a worked? paine at thage of eightene yeares
Also yf yt fortune any of my said ij daughters Alyce or Elizabethe do dye before the sayd age of eightene yeares Then I will one of them shall be the others heyer

Item I bequethe unto Chrystopher my Sonne all my howses and Lands ther(e)unto belongynge in fee symple att thage of twentye and one yeares
And if it shall fortune the sayd Chrystopher to dye before the age of xxj yeares withowt heyres of his bodye Laufullye begotten Then I will that James Astone [Austen?] and Thomas Lythered whome I doe make my Executors shall sell all my sayd howsies and landes ther(e)unto belongynge for the best pryce that they can And the money thereof comynge equallye to be shyfted amongest my daughters then lyvynge

Also I doe gyve unto the sayd Chrystopher my sonne ij ewes and vj twelve montynge sheepe more, a keatell, a fether bedd at thage of xxj yeares
Item I will yt my Executors shall leave for store in my howse, a table, a fourme, a Cupborde, a cheste, a querne, a bowltynge hutche and a bedstedle

Also I will that my sayde Executors shall sell my two horse Carte Court and plaughe, And the money thereof comynge to paye my detts with all soe farr as it retche [reach] And if the sayd money wyll not retche to paye my sayd detts, legacies & other charges Then I will that my Executors shall paye it out of ye profitts of my howses and landes untill all my sayd detts and legaciesbe fullye satysfyed contented and payd

Also I will that my Executors shall have the settynge and lettynge forthe of all my sayde howsies & lands ther(e)unto belongynge untyll the tyme that Chrystopher my Sonne comethe to the age of twentye and one yeares, And the money ther(e)of soe receyved I will that my Executors shall paye and all the rest of my detts, legacies & other chargies for that my moveable goods will not extende unto
And the rest thereof soe spared they to make accompte unto Christopher my Sonne And he to have it when he comethe to his full age of xxj yeares

Also I doe make and ordayne James Astone & Thomas Lytherer my full Executors of this my prsent Testament and Last will To whome I gyve for their paynes a iijs iiijd a peece

Robert Lackie was buried at St. Lawrence, Thanet, Kent on 10th March 1570/71.
Robert Lakie and Alice Allan were married at St. Lawrence on 10th November 1562.
A daughter Elizabeth Lakey is baptised to Robert at St. Lawrence 17th June 1562.
Nicholas Smith & Margaret Lakye married 8 Jun 1573 at St. Lawrence.
