In the name of God Amen The xxvjth day of Julye in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and fyve and in the third yeare of the raigne of or Souraigne Lord James by the grace of God Kinge of England France and Ireland defendr of the Faith and of Scotland the nyne and thirteth
I Laurence Lambe of Charte inxta Sutton Vallence in the Countie of Kent yeoman beinge of pfecte minde and memorie thanks be gyven to almightie God doe institute & appointe this my Last will and testamente in manner & forme followinge
First I comitt my soule unto almightie God my Saviour and Redeemer hopinge by faith in him to obtaine forgyvenes for all my synnes, and my body to the earthe from whence it came

Item I gyve and bequeathe unto Jone my wife all my goods & howshold stuff whatsoever that nowe is in or aboute my house where I nowe dwell & all my goods & Chattell that now are in or uppon all my lands thereunto belonginge or apperteynninge with all my goods & cattell that nowe ar(e) in or upon all my Lands in Bowghton [Boughton] & Marden comonly called Bogden
I gyve also unto Jone my wife two heiffers in Romney marshe

Also my will is that Jone my wife shall have the prafitts [profits] of beards lands duringe the terme of her widowehoade towards the keepinge of my children doeinge neither strip nor waste payeinge the lords rents suls? and servics and keeping the enclosure of all my said lands called Beards lands suffitiently and leavinge the said lands so suffitientlye enclosed and fenced exceptinge & allwayes reservinge all tymber and timber trees

Butt if it happen that she marry then my will is she shall loose the benefitt of the aforesaid Beards lands and it to remaine to the use aforesaid excepte the said Joane my wife doe gyve unto my sonne or sonnes and to his or theire heires for ever her housse and lands with the appurtenancs where we nowe dwell before the day of her marriage Then my will is she shall have the profitts of the aforesaid Beards lands untill my sonne Jeames come to the age of one and twentie yeares in manner and forme abovesaid

Item I gyve unto my two sonnes Christofer and Thomas all my stock of Cattell in Romney mershe with all profitts and it to remaine to theire use untill they come to the age of one & twentie yeares
Item I gyve unto my sonne Christofer my Lease of Sheepe court * in Waltam [Waltham] and the profitts of it to remaine to his use untill he come to the age of one & twentie yeares
I gyve him also one chest wch standeth in myne owne chamber wherein my writinge nowe are

Item I gyve unto Elizabeth my dawghter my Lease of Marshland with all profitts thereunto belonging lyeinge in newe Churche [Newchurch] & Snave and knowne by the name of Cobbes place when as she shall come to the age of twentie yeares
But if she dye before she come to the age of twentie yeares or before it happen she be married, then my will is the profitts of the lease shalbe equally devided betweene my three sonnes Christofer Thomas and Jeames when they shall come to the age of one and twentie yeares

Item my will is that my cosen Stephen Lambe shall have the selling of all my stock in Romney mershe gyven to my twoo sonnes Christofer and Thomas as also of my two leases of Sheepe Courte and Cobbs Place and the profitts of it and them to remaine in his hands untill my two sonnes aforesaid Christofer and Thomas and my daughter come unto the ages before mentioned

the which said Stephen Lambe I ordaine & make my sole Executor of this my Last will & testamente and he to bringe my body honestly to the earth & to paye my debts within one yeare next after my decease out of my goods allowinge him and his assignes all suffiticente and necessarie cost and charges that shall arise and growe in or by the execution of this my Last will and Testamente

Item I will and desire Mr. Thomas Johnson of Charte inxta Sutton Vallence and my brother Christofer Acton to be the Overseers of this my presente will and testamente, and they to have necessarie expences borne upon my goods wheresoever they shall ride or goe about the seeinge of this my will truely executed

Item I gyve all my goods & Chattells unbequeathed unto my cosen Stephan Lambe to the use of my children and to pay my debtts at the tyme and yeares above written

This is my last Will & Testament of all my Lands in manner & forme followinge

First I gyve and bequeathe unto my sonne xpofer [Christofer] and to his heires for ever my two howses with all and singuler the appurtenancs with one orchyard and one Cowe Lease thereunto belonginge situate and beinge in the pishe [parish] of Woord and also one house and halfe an aker of Land thereunto belonginge wth other the appurtenance beinge in the piseh (of St. Pauls without the Citty walles of Canterburie at the age of one and twentie yeares and the profitts thereof to remaine in myne Executors hands untill his yeares of one and twentie

Item I gyve unto my sonne Thomas and his heires for ever all my Lands in Bowghton Muncheksey [Boughton Monchelsea] & Marden with the appurtenance comonly called Bogden at the age of one and twentie yeares and the profitts of it (if any) arise to remaine in myne Executors hands untill he come to the full age

Item I gyve and bequeathe unto my sonne James and to his heires for ever all my Lands in Sutton vallence & Charte adjoyninge with the appurtenances best known by the name of Beards Lands when he shall come to the age of one and twentie yeares

Item that if my three sonnes Xpofer Thomas and James do happen to dye without heires of theire bodies lawfully begotten Then I gyve all my Lands in Bowghton & Marden afoesaid comonly called Boggden & my two howses at or in Woore with all profitts & comodities there unto belonginge, and also that my howse in St. Paules and halfe an aker of land thereunto apperteyninge unto my cosen Stephan Lambe & his heires for ever

Item my will is that the profitts of my lands gyven unto my sonne Xpofer shall remaine in myne Executors hands untill he come to the age of one & twentie yeares and the profitt of all my other Lands to goe and belonge to the bringing up of my Children

In Witness whereof I the said Laurence Lambe have caused this my Last will and testament to be written & herd into have putt my hand and seale the day & yeare first above written

I Laurence Lambe of Charte Sutton beinge of pfecte memorie thanks be gyven to God do institute this as a schedule & pcell [parcel] of my Last will & testament as followeth

Item that whereas I have in my will gyven my lands called Boggden to my sonne Thomas my will nowe is that my sonne Christofer shall have the foresaid Lands called Boggden and everie pcell thereof with the appurtenances to him & to his heires for ever

Also whereas I have formerly gyven my two howses in Owre and Canterburie to my sonne Christofer, my will nowe is that my sonne Thomas shall have the two foresaid howses in Owre & Canterburie and everie parcell and parte thereof with all & singuler theire appurtenances to him and to his heires for ever
