of Bromley, Kent

This is the last Will and Testament of me Edward Latter of Bromley in the County of Kent Gentleman

I Give and bequeath the Rents and Profits of all my Freehold Estate situate in the several parishes of Bromley Beckenham Hayes and Saint Mary Cray in the said County of Kent to my dear Wife Ann Latter during her life
and at her death it is my will and meaning that the said Estate shall descend to my Sons Robert Booth Latter Henry Latter and Robinson Latter and any other Son or Sons I may have at the death of my said Wife as Coheirs according to the Custom of Gavelkind

I give to each of my ten Children the Sum of one thousand pounds to be paid to them by my Executors at their respective ages of twenty one years
And in case of the death of any one or more of them under that age the Legacy of him her or them so dying I direct to go to the Survivors of them equally and payable to them with their original Legacies at the time aforesaid
and the Interest of such respective Legacies to be applied in the meantime for their benefit respectively at the discretion of my Executors

I give to each of my Brothers and to my Sister Ann Latter Ten Pounds apiece for Mourning
I give my Law Books and Stamps and all my Book debts to my Son the said Robert Booth Latter

and subject to the Payment of my Debts and Funeral and Testamentary Expences all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever I give to my said dear Wife the better to enable her to educate and bring up my younger Children and I request of her to share and divide the same at her death among my Children in such Parts and Proportions as she may think proper not doubting but that she may support herself and the said Children in a suitable manner from the Rents of my Freehold Estates and the Interest of such Residue

and I appoint my said wife and my said Son Robert Booth Latter Executrix and Executor of this my Will
In witness whereof I the said Edward Latter have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal the Twentieth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty four Edwd Latter
