Item, I leave to the high alter there for my tythes forgotten 4d.
Item, I leave to the light of the blessed Mary the Virgin there 12d.
Item, I leave to the light of St.Michael there 12d.
Item, I leave to the light of St.Katharine there 4d.
Item, I leave to the light of (Hercis=The Harrow?) there a cow in the
custody of Roger Somer to deliver his charge at the feast of All Saints
next for those 4 shillings 3 and one half pence which I owe to the said light.
Item, I leave to Peter Colyn my godson a cow in the custody of William Colyn.
The rest of my goods not above left, I give and bequeath to William Crouchman and William Colyn to dispose of for the benefit of my soul as they think best, making them moreover executors of my tyestament and appointing the said William Croucheman and William Colyn and Henry Hendon supervisors of these presents.
This is the last will of me the sayd Jamys Ledys made and declared the daye and yere above sayd.
First I will that my executors sells all my
landys and tenementys in Woodchirche and Shadokysherst (Shadoxhurst) the best price
they may and the money thereof received I will that my moder (mother) have
xiiis and iiiid
and in case the said landys and tenements be sold for
x li (pounds?) I will that Elizabeth my sister have x marcs.
And yf hit be sold under the summe of x li I will that the said Elizabeth have but viii marcs.
Item I wille that eoerich (each) of my godchildren have iiiid and the remenant of the money resceyved of the sayd salae what so ever hit be I will that myn executors dispose for the helth of my soule as to them best shall seme to be doen.
The above testament and last will proved before Edward Payne 17th July 1488
