A list of renewals of Ale Licences in 1740, for Wingham Licensing Division, with a few "(New)" meaning a New Licence (ie not a renewal). Renewals were written down as 8 shillings; new ones were 16 shillings. There will be many other years of licences which can be consulted.

Note: Some of these inns/pubs are likely to have changed their name since 1740, as the Tilmanstone "Blue Anchor" did, becoming (late 1790s) the Three Colts and later the Ravens (Now Closed).
