In the name of God Amen The Sixth day of May in the three and thirtieth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the Faith etc.
I John Longley of Sandherst in the County of Kent Yeoman being sicke and weake in body but of sound and perfect minde and memory (praise bee given to God therefore) knowing the uncertainty of this life and the certainty of death desiring to settle things in order doe make & ordaine this my bee my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and to Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer And my body to the earth from whence it was taken to bee decently buried after the discrecen [discretion] of my Executors hereafter named And as touching all such worldly goods and Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God in this life to lend mee I give and bequeath them all in manner and forme following

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Peter Longley my sonne One hundred pounds of good and Lawfull money of England which I have now in ready money

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Browne my grandchild [thirty pounds] to bee paid unto her when she shall Accomplish the full age of One and Twenty yeares or her day of marriage or either of them which first shall happen by my Executors hereafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto the said Elizabeth Browne my grandchild thirty shillings of lawfull money of England yearely and every yeare untill shee shall accomplish the full age of one and Twenty yeares or day of marriage or either of them which first shall happen quarterly to bee paid by my Executors hereafter named for the use or interest of the aforesaid Thirty pounds before by mee unto her given

Item I give and bequeath unto John Longley my grandchild Tenn pounds of good & lawfull money of England to bee paid unto him when he shall Accomplish the full age of One and Twenty yeares by my Executors hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Longley my grandchild Tenn pounds of good & lawfull money of England to bee paid unto him when he shall Accomplish the full age of One and Twenty yeares by my Executors hereafter named

But if the said John Longley or Thomas Longley or either of them happen to dye before they shall accomplish the full age of one and Twenty yeares as aforesaid Then my minde is that the Tenn pounds before by mee to him given soe deceased before he attain the age of one and Twenty yeares shall bee paid unto the Survivour of them

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Longley my Loveing Wife Foure pounds p. Annum yearly and every yeare during her natural life to bee paid unto her quarterly every quarter of the yeare by even and equall porcons by my Executors hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Petter my daughter Five shillings of Lawfull money of England to bee paid unto her within one moneth next after my decease by my Executors hereafter named

All the rest and residue of my good Chattells & estate whatsoever my debts and Legacies paid and Funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath them all unto John Longley and Peter Longley my sonnes whome I doe hereby make joynt Executors of this my Last Will and Testament

In Witnes whereof I the said John Longley have hereunto sett my Hand and Seale Dated the day and yeare first above written Anno Dom. 1681.
