In the name of God Amen I Awdry Lucas of the parish of Ospringe in the Countie of Kent widdowe being sicke and weak in body but of sound and good mind and memorie God be praised therefore do make and ordaine this my last will and Testament September the one and twentieth one thousand six hundred and fifty six in manner and form following That is to say
I give my soul to God that gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came to be decently and seemly interred in the Churchyard of the said parish in hope of resurrection to eternall life through the onely merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my onely and All Sufficient Saviour and Redeemer at the last and general day of judgmt. And for that temporall estate and goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me my mind and meaninge is as followth, that is to say,

Inprimis I give and bequeath unto my sonne Henry Lucas the sum of thirtie Pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto him within half a yeare after my death.
Item I also give and bequeath unto the said Henry one field bedsteddle readie furnished with one featherbed and boulster matt and cord blankets and Coverlet, Curtains and vallance and all other things belonging to it in the kitchin Chamber.
Item I also give unto him the said Henry four paire of sheets and half the other linen that is in a truncke now in the house dated one thousand six hundred and fifty three.

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Awdry Slade of Owre the sum of tenne pounds of like lawfull money of England to be paid her within one quarter or lesse after my decease.
Item I give her also my wearinge apparell both linnen and woollen.
Item I give unto her sonne Godfrey Slade one Twentie shillinge piece of gold to be paid at the time before mentioned and one little boxe

Item I give unto my sonne Daniell Lucas the sum of thirtie pounds of like lawfull money of England to be paid him at the age of three and twentie years of age.
Item I give him besides the sum of twelve pounds more towards the maintenance and keeping of him in clothes till that time.
Item I give him also the other half of the truncke of linen aforesaid and foure paire of sheets more together with another bedsted readie furnished as it now stands with all the appurtenances belonginge thereunto in the Kitchin chamber.
Item I give unto him the said truncke wherein the linnen is and all the tooles belonginge to his trade and given him before by his brother Edward.

Item I give unto my two grandchildren John and Edward Hunt the sum of thirty pounds that is fifteen pounds a piece to be paid them at the severall age of twenty two years.
And in case one of them die before that time that then the survivor shalbe the others heire. And in case they both die before the time aforesaid that then it shall returne unto my owne children to be equally divided amongst them.
Item I give them also one little chest of linnen to be equally also divided amongst them when they come to the age aforesaid.
Item I give them also one great kettle, one little kettle and two stiletto, one of pot mettall and the other brasse Mettall and also some certaine pieces of pewter dishes in a chest.
Item I give them also one little featherbed one flockbed and one coverlet and blanket thereunto.
Item I give unto my sonne-in-law John Hunt one shillinge to be paid unto him at his first demand after my death.

Item for all the residue of my goods and chattels within doores and without I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Lucas immediately after my decease who I nominate and appoint my whole and sole Executor to see this my last will and testament and the several legacies, conditions and Covenants therein contained duely and truely performed according to the intent and purpose hereof.

And finally it is hereby provided that in case my sonne Daniell die before the age of one and twenty years that then his part and moyetie of the money and goods aforesaid shall be equally divided betwixt his said brothers and sisters.
But if he live till then it shall be at his own disposing to order it as he please onely amongst his brothers and sisters aforesaid and not to strangers.

In witness whereof and of all and singular the promisses I have hereunto set my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written
