Will of Mary Luddington

of Dover, Kent

I hereby nominate and appoint my son William Luddington of Dover aforesaid Baker and my son in law Stephen Witherden of the same place ropemaker Executors of this my will
and I desire that the said Stephen Witherden may as soon as convenient after my decease be paid and may deduct retain and keep to himself out of my monies personal Estate for my Board and Lodging from the date of this my will for so long time as I shall live with him at and after the rate of Twenty Pounds per annum.

Also I give and bequeath all of my household goods furniture wearing apparel of all sorts and the sum of five pounds for mourning unto my daughter Mary aforesaid wife of Joseph Menpes of Dover aforesaid Baker to be delivered and paid to her within one month next after my decease

Also I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods chattels and personal estate whatsoever and wherever after the money for my board and lodging and all other my just debts funeral expenses charges of proving this my will and incident charges shall be thereof paid and satisfied in manner following (that is to say)
one fourth part thereof unto my said son William Luddington
and one other fourth part thereof to my daughter Catherine Witherden wife of the said Stephen Witherden
one other fourth part thereof to my said daughter Mary Menpes
and the other fourth part thereof to William Luddington Mary Luddington and Joseph Luddington children of my late deceased son Joseph Luddington or such of the said children as shall be living at the time of my decease

and I hereby revoke and make void all former and other wills by me made and publish and ordain this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Mary Luddington the testatrix have to this my last will set my hand and seal this first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety- two. The mark x of Mary Luddington signed in sealed published and notarised by the said Mary Luddington the testatrix as and for and to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of her other have subscribed and named as witnesses hereto

This will was proved at London the sixth day of February in the year of the Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynn Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper of commissary of prerogative court of Canterbury lawfully instituted by the oath of William Luddington her son and Stephen Witherden the Executors named in the will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and effects of the Extrx having been first sworn duly to administer.
