In Dei Nom Amen the xxth Day of the Moneth of Septembre yn the yere of the lord god M? vc xxxiij and yn the xxvth yere of the Reign of kyng Henry the viij
I John Lukk of the p[ar]ishe of Chart next unto Sutton Valennce yn the shyre of kent Taylor Beyng seke yn bodye hole of mynde and yn p[er]fcte memorie make and ordayne this my testament and last wyll yn manr and forme folowenge
First I comytte my soule unto Almyghty god and to or ladye saynte mary And to all the holy companye of hevyn And my bodye to be buried yn the churche yarde of Chart aforesaid

Itm I give and bequeath unto the high aulter in the said churche of Chart for my tithes forgotten or wtholden xvjd
Itm I bequeath to the light of Saynt myhell ther iiijd
Itm I wyll therbe bestowed for my soule and all Cristen soules at my our Beryng in masses and other good deds xvjs
Itm At my monethes mynd to be bestowed after lyke manr xiijs
Itm I wylhane yerely the space of x yeres an obyt for my soule and all Crysten soules to be kept in the pishe churche of Chart aforesaid At the which obyt I wyll there shalbe bestowed yerely yn masses and other cherytable deds vjs viijd

Itm I bequeath to evry one of my godchyldren iiijd
Itm I wyll that Alice my wyff shall paye unto Thomas my sonne yn clothe or in money at hys Age of xxiiij yeres xls Stlyng money or els clothe to that value
Itm I wyll to the said Thomas my son xxvjs viijd Dew to me by Thomas Hartryge

Itm I wyll that the said Thomas Lukk my sone shall paye to hys brother Willm xls St[ir]lyng when the said Willm comyth to hys Age of xxiiij yeres.
Itm I wyll that the said Alice my wyffe shall paye unto John my sone when he comyth to hys Age of xxiiij yeres xxs Stlyng
Itm I wyll that the said Alice my wyffe shall paye unto Richard my sone when he comyth to his Age of xxiiij yeres iijli vjs viijd Stlyng
Itm I wyll that my said wife shall paye unto Elizabethe my doughtr at the Day of her maryage xli [£10] Stlyng

And yff it shall happyn Any of the said chyldren before namyd or Any of myn other before not namyd or not borne to Decease before their said Age of xxiiij yeres or before the tyme of their portion to hym her or thaym appoynted without heyre or heirs of their bodye lawfully begotten Then I wyll that the part or portion of hym her or theym so deptyd shalbe devyded evynly Amongst thaym so then ovrlyvyng To have to theym And to their heires for evr so overlyvyng

The Residue of all my goods before not assigned nor bequeathed my Detts and legacs payed and p[er]formed I gyve theym to the said Alice my wyff whiche said Alice to guyder with John Jurden Jordeyne and make to myne executors of this my psent testament and last wyll To the whiche John Jurden I give for his paynes abowte the same iijs iiijd Stlyng

This is the last wyll of me the said John Lukk made & declared the day and yere above written As towchyng the dysposition of all my lands and tenements wtin the said pishe of Charte Sutton Valannce Maideston and Marden or els where wtyn the said Shyre

First I gyve to Thomas my sonne ymmedyatly after my decesse my ten[emen]t and garden with thappurtenance yn Maideston aforesaid To have to hym his heres and assignes for evr
except I wyll that if it fortune the said Thomas my sonne to dye before he comyth to hys Age of xxiiij yeres and without issue of his bodye lawfully begotten Then I wyll the said tenement and gardyne with the appurtenances and the xls of money or cloth before to hym bequeathed shall remayne to hys brothers then overlyvyng egally to be devyded emongs theym then lyvyng

Itm I wyll my ten't yn Charte aforesaid and the lease thereof to Willm Lukk my sonne when he comyth to hys Age of xxiiij yeres To have to hym and hys heres & assignes for evr as the lease wyl find?

Itm I wyll to John Lukk my sonne my two howses sett & beyng in Sutton Valance Agenst the markett place with all and syngler their appurtenancs To have and to hold hym hys heires and assignes for ever when he comyth to hys Age of xxiiij yeres

Itm I wyll to Stephen Lukk my sone xij acres of my land lyeng and beyng yn the pishe of Marden aforesaid To have to hym and to hys heires & assignes for ever when he comyth to hys Age of xxiiij yeres

Itm I wyll to Richard Lukk my sone my tenement in Sutton aforesaid next unto James Kynge To have to hym & to hys heires & assignes for ever when he comythe to hys Age of xxiiij yeres

Itm I wyll and give vij acres of my land yn Marden To my chylde that my wyfe now goeth wtall whether it be man or woman To have to hym or her whether it be And to hys or her assignes for evr At the Age of xxiiij yeres
Itm I give to Alice my wyff my tenement and garden and my Acres of land yn Marden During the terme of her lyf
And after her decesse I wyll it remayne to my sonnes then lyvyng And the chyldren of theym deptyd yff any ther be evenly to be devyded amongs theym their heires & assignes for evr

Itm I wyll that the saide Alice my wyfe shall enjoye and take the issues and p[ro]fetts of all my lands and ten'ts tyll my sed chyldren comen to their Ages severally of xxiiij yeres of their portions She fyndyng theym and kepyng the Repations of the same and payeng the Rents yerely goyng owt of the same Except onely of my tenement yn Maydeston before assigned to the said Thomas my sonne And if it happen any of my said chyldren to decesse before they shall come to their Age of xxiiij yeres and wtout issue of their bodies lawfully begotten Then I wyll that hys her or their partes or porcyons so decessed before assigned Shall remayne to theym so then overlyvyng their heires & assignes for evr

This witnesseth the Abov nmyd John Jurden & Thomas Lukk And the abov namyd Alice
