This is the last Wyll and Testament of DAVY LYE of Bridge in the Countye of Kente deceased made and declared by the sayed DAVY beinge of good remembrance the 14th Daye of October in the Yere of Our Lorde Gode 1556.
Fyrste the sayed DAVY havynge a siner hope in Gods mercy comytted hys soule unto Allmyghtye God and desyred that hys bodye myghte be buryed as the bodye of a Chrystan man.

Item The sayed DAVY wylled that JONE hys Wyfe sholde have hys house att Bridge aforesayed wythe the Lands to the same belonynge durynge her Lyfe. And after her decease the sayed DAVY wylled the sayed house and land with thappurtenances unto hys Sonne DAVY and to hys heyres forever.

Item The sayed DAVY wylled and bequeathed unto hys sayed Sonne DAVY hys best bed and the bedstedell in the newe chamber two payer of shets a payer of blanketts hys best coverlet of carpetworke a bolster two pyllows and the newe hangyngs of the same chamber and also two kyen of the beset to be delyered unto the sayed DAVY hys Sonne att the Daye of hys Maryage by JONE hys sayed Wyfe or by her Assygnes.

Item The sayed DAVY wylled and bequeathed unto hys Daughters that ys to saye ELLYS ANNYS ELIZABETH JUDETH and JONE to eche of them tenne pounds of lawfull money of England to be payed and delyvered unto eche of hys sayed Daughters by the sayed JONE his Wyfe her Executors or Assygnes att the Daye of ther Maryages as yt shall happen any of them to be maryed.

And further the sayed DAVY wylled that yf any of hys sayed Daughters happen to dye before her maryage then the parte of her or them hys sayed Daughters so dyinge shalbe be payed and delyvered unto DAVY hys sayed Sonne att hys age of twenty one yeres

Item The sayed DAVY wylled unto hys Servunte ROBERT HERYNGE a seame of barly and a heffer yf the sayed ROBERT do abyde with JONE hys Wyfe all the next barly season then to be payed and delivered unto the sayed ROBERT by JONE hys Wyfe whome the sayed DAVY LYE wylled and ordained to be hys Sole Executrix.

And the Resydewe of all hys Goodes the sayed DAVY wylled unto hys sayed Wyfe to the intente that she sholde be good unto hys children to see them well and vertouslye brought upp.
