In Dei Nomine AMEN the 8th Daie of October in the 18th Yeare of the Reigne of Our Sovereigne Lady Elizabeth by the Grace of God Quene of England France and Ireland Defender of the Faithe etc.
I DAVID LYE of Bridge in the County of Kent Yeoman being sicke in bodie but of good and perfecte remembrance doe make and ordaine this my present last Will and Testament in manner and forme following. First and before all thyngs I committ my soule into the Hands of Almightie God trusting in his mercie by the merits of Jesus Christ that he will forgive me all my trespasses and offences committed against his divine Majestie and my bodie to be buried in the Churchyarde of Bridge aforesaid.

Item I will geve and bequeath to MARY BYNGE the sume of three poundes of current money of England to be paied her by my Executrixe within the space of one half yeare next after my decease.
Item I will geve and bequeath to my two God-children MARY SYLKWODE and JOHANE COLSON to either of them three shillings to be likewise paied within one half yeare next after my decease.

All the Residue of my Goods as well apparell or other detts owing unto me I holy geve will and bequeath unto ELIZABETH my Sister whome I make and ordaine my Executrixe of this my last Will to see the same performed and fulfilled or she will answer for the same at the general Daie of Judgment.

This ys the last Will and Testament of me the said DAVID LYE made and declared the daie above said concerning my tenement and the Lands therto appurtayning in Bridge.

Item I will my tenement and Landes in Bridge aforesaid (after the decease of my Mother) to be sold by my said Executrixe to the uttermost value and immediately upon such sale made the money thereof to be devided as followeth. Such to my Sisters (ELLYS AGNES ELIZABETH and JUDITH) to every one of them a parte by equall portions (excepting and reserving out of the partes of the said ELLYS' AGNES' and JUDITH'S) the summe of tenne pounds by equall portions to be deducted viz. of every parte the summe of three pounds six shillings and eight pence which said sume of tenne pounds deducted as is aforesaid I will geve and bequeath to my said Sister ELIZABETH.

Item I will geve and bequeath and it is my meaning that if yt fortune that any of my said Sisters to decease before suche tyme as their partes shall happen to be due then I will that her or theire partes so deceasing to remayne to theire Heires and Assignes forever. Provided always and yt is my will and meaninge that when it shall fortune that my said tenement and Lands before rehersed to be sold by my said Executrixe in manner and forme before declared that then upon the sale thereof that ROBERT BARGAR? of Bridge aforesaid Tanner shall have the refusing of the same tenement and Lands geving and payeing so much for the same as any other person or persons shall and will geve and pay and not otherwise.
