I give and devise unto my son John Major and to my good friend Robert Milton of Folkestone aforesaid �all and every my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments and also all my money security for money goods chattels and real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever that I shall leave at the time of my decease or be any way intitled unto to hold all the same unto my said son John Major and friend Robert Milton and their heirs executors administrators and assigns upon the trusts nevertheless and to and for the several uses intents and purposes hereinafter mentioned expressed and declared of and concerning the same (that is to say)
upon trust to permit and
suffer my beloved wife Elizabeth Major and her assigns to have receive and take the rents issues and
profits income and proceeds of all and every my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments and all my
real and personal estate for and during the term of her natural life she and they committing no waste but
keeping all and every my messuages and buildings in good repair and not any way diminishing or making
away with any of my said real and personal estate
and from and after the decease of my said wife
Elizabeth Major then upon trust to pay and I do hereby give devise and bequeath unto my son William
Major the sum of three hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and from and after the payment
of the said three hundred pounds then as to all my said real and personal estate which shall remain upon
and to and for the several uses intents and purposes hereafter mentioned (that is to say)
As to one full equal sixth part or share thereof in trust to and for the only proper use and behoof of my son
David Major and of his heirs executors administrators and assigns
As to one other full equal sixth part or share thereof in trust to and for the only proper use and behoof of
my son Henry Major and of his heirs executors administrators and assigns
As to one other full equal sixth part or share thereof in trust to and for the only proper use and behoof of
my said son John Major and of his heirs executors administrators and assigns
As to one other full equal sixth part or share thereof in trust to and for the only proper use and behoof of
my son Hammerden Major and of his heirs executors administrators and assigns
As to one other full equal sixth (part or share) thereof in trust to and for the only proper use and behoof of
my said son William Major and of his heirs executors administrators and assigns
And as to the remaining sixth part or share thereof in trust to and for the only proper used and behoof of
my daughter Elizabeth wife of William Pepper butcher and her assigns for and during the term of her
natural life in case she shall die in the life time of her said husband and from and after the decease of my
said daughter Elizabeth in the life time of her said husband then upon to and for the only proper use and
behoof of all and every the child and children both male and female of my said daughter Elizabeth Pepper
which she shall leave at the time of her decease his her or their heirs executors administrators and assigns
equally to be divided between them share and share alike as tenants in common
and in case my said
daughter Elizabeth Pepper shall die in the lifetime of her said husband leaving no child or children or
leaving any such and they shall all die without attaining the age of twenty one years then up on trust as to
the said last mentioned sixth part to and for the only proper use and behoof of my said sons David Major
Henry Major John Major Hammerden Major and William Major and of their heirs executors
administrators and assigns equally to be divided between them share and share alike as tenants in
common and not as joint tenants
but in case my said daughter Elizabeth Pepper shall survive and outlive
her husband the said William Pepper then upon trust as to the said last mentioned sixth apart to and for
the only proper use and behoof of my said daughter Elizabeth Pepper and of her heirs executors
administrators and assigns for ever
and I do hereby order and direct that my said Trustees or either of
them their or either of their heirs executors or administrators shall not be answerable or accountable for
any goods sum or sums of money whatsoever but what shall naturally come to his or their respective
hands or possessions nor for any involuntary loss or losses what shall or may happen in the calling in and
receiving or putting or placing out at interest any sum or sums of money as Trustees and executors of this
my will and that �one of them shall not be answerable or accountable for the other of them as for the
acts receipts or defaults of the other of them but each of them for himself and for his own act receipt and
defaults only shall be accountable and not otherwise
and that from and after payment of all and every my
just debts funeral expences and the charges and expences of proving and executing this my will and other
charges any way incident thereto it shall and may be lawful for my said Trustees to deduct and retain to
themselves out of my said real and personal estate the sum of four guineas apiece and also all such costs
charges damages and expences which they or either of them shall at any time hereafter pay lay out sustain
or be any way put unto for or by reason or means of the Trusts aforesaid or for any deed act matter or
thing whatsoever any way touching or concerning the same
and I do hereby nominate constitute and
appoint the said Robert Milton and my said son John Major executors of this my said will and thus I
conclude the same hereby revoking all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made in
witness whereof I the said William Major the testator to each sheet of this my said will contained in four
sheets of paper have set and affixt my hand and seal the eleventh day of September in the year of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Wm Major Signed sealed delivered published and
declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his
presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses after
interlining in the third sheet the following words vizt �The sum of four guineas apiece and also�

I give seventy pounds to be paid into the hands of my son William Major for him to distribute in brown
