In the Name of God Amen
I Elizabeth Marshall of Buckland in the County of Kent widow being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory praised be Almighty God for the same do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
First and principally I resign my Soul to Almighty God in hopes of attaining Remission of my Sins and a joyful and happy Resurrection to Life Eternal through the alone Merits and Mediation of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the parish Church of Teynham in the said County of Kent

I give devise and bequeath all and every my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments situate lying and being in the several parishes of Hartlip and Linsted in the said County of Kent or elsewhere unto my Son Edward Marshall his Heirs and Assigns for ever

Item I give and bequeath unto Edward Marshall Son of William Marshall late of Tonge in the said County of Kent Yeoman deceased the Sum of five pounds
Item I give and bequeath unto Johanna Hills Wife of Andrew Hills of Norton in the said County of Kent Labourer one Annuity of ten pounds a year if she should survive the said Andrew Hills payable to her during the term of her natural Life free from all manner of Taxes or deductions whatsoever by equal half yearly payments at Lady Day and Michaelmas in every year the first of such payments to begin and to be made on the first of those Days which shall happen next after the decease of the said Andrew Hills

And in case my said Son Edward Marshall should die before he attains his Age of twenty one Years then I do hereby order and direct and it is my Will and Mind that the said Annuity of ten pounds a year hereby by me bequeathed to the said Johanna Hills shall be paid to her during the term of her natural Life from the time of the decease of my said Son in the same manner as if the said Johanna Hills had survived her said Husband Andrew Hills And I do hereby subject my personal Estate to the payment of the said Annuity

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Fairman Daughter of William Fairman of Linsted in the said County of Kent Gentleman the Sum of five hundred pounds if my said Son Edward Marshall should die without Issue before he attains his Age of twenty one Years and the said Elizabeth Fairman shall be then living

And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what Nature Sort or Kind soever the same shall exist and be at the time of my decease (my just debts Legacys Annuity Funeral Charges and the Charges of the probate of this my Will being first therewith and thereout paid and satisfied) I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said Son Edward Marshall

And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Son Edward Marshall and William Fairman Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by me at any time made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Marshall have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and affixt my Hand and Seal this fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five

This Will was proved at London on the seventeenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six before the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of Edward Marshall the Son of the said deceased and William Fairman the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration of the Goods Chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted they having been first sworn by Commission duly to Administer.

Elizabeth Fairman was christened 6 Sep 1747, d. of William and Mary Fairman at Teynham, Kent (near Linsted).
There are 2 possible Buckland’s in Kent. Because of the place names mentioned (Teynham, Linsted, Hartlip) it is presumed that this is Buckland-next-Faversham, Kent.
