And I bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Thomas Mills Simmons the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds of lawfull
British money
to my daughter Ann the wife of Henry Simmons the like sum of one thousand five hundred pounds of like lawful money
And to my son William Martin the sum of three thousand pounds of like lawful money;
each of the said legacies to be paid within six months next after my decease
And I bequeath to my said Son Thomas Martin the sum of three thousand pounds of like lawful money upon trust to continue or place out the same at interest on real or Government securities and from time to time to alter and vary such securities as he shall in his discretion think fit
and as to two thousand pounds of the said trust money Upon trust to pay the interest or income thereof
to my daughter Sophia the wife of John Taylor during her life independent of her present or any future husband and of his debts and
control And after the decease of my said daughter Sophia then upon trust to pay the said interest or income to the said John Taylor
(if he shall survive her) during his life
and after the decease of the survivor of them the said John Taylor and Sophia his Wife Upon trust to pay and devise the said principal
trust money or sum of two thousand pounds unto and equally between all the lawful issue of my said daughter Sophia at their
respective ages of twenty one years with Gross remainders between them and their respective issue
and in the mean time to apply the interest or income of such last mentioned trust money or a competent part thereof at his (my said
trustees) discretion for the maintenance and education of such issue according to their presumptive shares of such last mentioned principal
trust money
And in default of such issue or of their or one of their attaining the age of twenty one years or in case
of them all dying under that age or without leaving lawful issue then upon trust to pay and transfer
the said last mentioned principle trust money or sum of two thousand pounds unto and equally between my next of kin
And as to one thousand pounds residue of the three thousand pounds trust money Upon trust to pay the interest or income thereof
unto my daughter Frances the wife of Henry Bates during her life independent of her present or any future husband and of his debts
and control and after the decease of my said daughter Frances upon trust to pay and divide the said last
mentioned principal trust monies or sum of one thousand pounds unto and equally between all the lawful issue my said daughter Frances at
their respective ages of twenty one years with Gross remainder between them and their respective issue
And in the meantime to apply the interest or income of the said last mentioned principal trust money
or a competent part thereof at his my said trustees discretion for the maintenance and education of
such issue according to the presumptive shares of such last mentioned principal trust money
and in default of such issue or of their or one of their living to attain the age of twenty one years in case of
their all dying under that age or without leaving lawful issue then upon trust to pay and transfer
the said last mentioned principal trust money or sum of one thousand pounds unto and equally between my next of kin
Also I give and bequeath the sum of fifty pounds per annum of lawful British money unto Mrs. Ann Goad the mother of my wife for her life and do direct my said Ex[ecut]ors to pay the same to her out of my personal estate during the life of the said Ann Goad by half yearly payments clear of all deductions and to make the first of such half yearly payments at the expiration of six calendar months next after my decease
And I give and bequeath all the residue of my personal estate whatsoever unto my said son Thomas Martin absolutely for his own use
Also I give and devise all and every my messuages lands tenements tythes heredit[ament]s and real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever
residuary mortgage and trust estates unto and to the use of my said son Thomas Martin his heirs and assigns for ever
but nevertheless as to such mortgage and trust estates only upon trust to hold and dispose thereof according to the mortgages or any
trusts affecting the same but the monies due on any such mortgages to be considered as part of my personal estate
And I authorize my said son Thomas Martin out of the aforesaid trust monies to reimburse himself
all such costs & expences as he shall incur in the execution of the trusts of this my will
And I direct that my said son Thomas Martin shall not be answerable for any involuntary losses which may happen to the said trust monies
by reason of any insufficiency or failure of securities taken bon fide full in pursuance? of this my will or otherwise
