In the name of God Amen I DANIEL MATSON of the Town and Port of Dover in the County of Kent Merchant do make and ordain my last Will and Testament in Manner following (that is to say).

I doe give to my dear Mother Mrs MARY MATSON five hundred pounds of sterling to be paid to her in three months next after my decease.
And also I doe give to my said Mother her Executors and Assignes all those my fifteen Shares which I have in the Royal and Copper and Lead Mines and all my right title and interest in any such Mines which I have purchased in the name of my Brother NATHANIEL MATSON Merchant or any other name whatsoever among the other Shares therein.

Item I do give and bequeath to my Sister Mrs MARGARET HOUSEMAN now the Wife of Mr. JAMES HOUSEMAN one Annuity or yearly summe of fifty pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto her yearly and in every year during her naturall life by equall quarterly payments upon the four most common quarter dayes in the year the first payment thereof to begin and be made upon the first of the said quarter daies that shall happen after my decease for the true payment thereof whereof I doe hereby bind my Executor hereafter named and all my Personall Estate hereby given to him or that shall come to him by this my Will.

Item I doe bequeath to my Brother HENRY MATSON the summe of one thousand pounds sterling to be paid unto him at the end of two years after my decease or sooner if my Executor shall think fitt with Interest at the rate of four pounds per cent by the year till the payment thereof.

Item I doe give and bequeath to my Nephew JAMES MATSON Son of my late deceased Brother JAMES MATSON eight hundred pounds sterling to be paid unto him at his age of five and twenty years with Interest for the same at the rate of four pounds per cent by the year till the payment thereof.
And if he shall happen to dye before the said age then I doe give the said Legacy of eight hundred pounds to be divided equally betwixt my Brothers and Sister or the Survivors or Survivor of them that shall be living at the time of his decease.

Item I doe bequeath unto ROBERT ROOTS and ELIZABETH his now Wife one Annuity of eight pounds of lawfull money to be paid unto them and to the Survivor of them during his or her naturall life out of my Personall Estate by half yearly payments and in equall portions the first payment thereof to begin at half a years end next after my decease.

Also I doe give the Poor ten pounds sterling to be distributed at the discretion of my said Mother and my Executor hereafter named.

Item I doe give and bequeath to my loving Brother NATHANIEL MATSON and to his Heirs Executors and Assigns all my Mannours and parts of Mannors Messuages Lands tenements Rents and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever with all the appurtenances and all other my Reall with all the Rest and Residue of my Personall Estate Goods Chattles Ready Money Rights and Credits not hereby before disposed of my Debts Legacies and Charges being first paid and discharged out thereof.

And I doe make him my said Brother NATHANIEL MATSON full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament requiring his care and faithfulness in the true performance thereof.

In Witness whereof I the said DANIEL MATSON have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 14th Day of August in the year of Our Lord Christ 1709 DANIEL MATSON
Signed Sealed and published by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses at the request and in the presence of the said Testator.
