In the Name of God Amen I NATHANIEL MATSON of the Town and Port of Dover in the County of Kent Merchant doe make and ordaine my last Will and Testament in manner following.

In the first place I order my Executor hereafter named to secure on my Lands and Tenements all the moneys which I am obliged to pay by virtue of the last Will of my Mother MARY MATSON and the last Will of my Brother DANIEL MATSON to be paid in such manner as they appointed it to be paid (half yearly or quarterly). And I doe charge all my Lands and Tenements with the payment thereof accordingly.

That done I doe give to my Brother CHRISTOPHER MATSON fifty pounds per annum payable quarterly out of the Residue or what shall be over out of my said Lands and in default to be paid by my Executor out of the Personall Estate. And also I doe give him the sum of five hundred pounds payable at one year after my decease and in the meantime Interest at the rate of 4% per annum.

To my Brother and Sister HOUSEMAN I give fifty pounds per annum out of my Annuity of seventy pounds per annum paid at the Exchequer to be paid quarterly or that is directed to be paid or as it shall be received there to be paid to them or the longer liver of them.
More I give to my said Sister one hundred pounds to be paid at the end of a year.

I doe give to my Nephew JAMES MATSON one thousand pounds to be paid in two years after my decease. In the meantime Interest at 4 % per annum but on condition that he enter into Bond to my Executor that the same one thousand pounds shall be repaid to my Executor or left by him to some or one of the family of MAT(S)ON his relation on the Father's side if he die without children.

I give to ROBERT ROOTS seven pounds per annum payable half yearly. And after his decease to make the eight pounds my Brother DANIEL MATSON left to him and his Wife up ten pounds during her life.
To ELIZABETH YOUNG my Servant seven pounds per annum during life over what my Mother left her.

I doe give to my Kinsman ROBERT MATSON of Westcourt the sume of five hundred pounds to be paid half six months and half twelve months after my decease.
To JOHN MATSON his Brother one hundred pounds.
To JOHN MATSON son of his Brother JAMES MATSON the sum of one hundred pounds to be laid out on his education or putting out to a trade as my Executor shall think fitt.
And to JAMES MATSON of Reach one hundred pounds to be applyed by him to the Education of his child or as he shall think fitt.

And to ANN LECANDELL Maidservant ten pounds.
To GEORGE COLLER five pounds if living in the family.
And to the Cookmaid one years wages.
To the poor of Dover ten pounds to be paid and distributed as my Executor shall think fitt.

And I doe order and appoint my Executor to pay Mr. JOHN SLADDEN any sum under fifteen hundred pounds to be disposed of by him as I shall advise him to doe by Note or Writing under my Hand.

And I doe give and bequeath the Rest and Residue of my Estate both Reall and Personall unto my Brother HENRY MATSON and to his Heirs and Executors desiring him to have regard to any Note I shall leave in this my Will.
And I doe make him my said Brother HENRY MATSON Sole Executor of this my Will.

Dover 26th April 1713. -NATHANIEL MATSON Signed sealed and declared by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as Witnesses at the request and in the presence of the said Testator.

Whereas since the within written there is several alterations.
I doe revoke the Legacy of five hundred pounds to ROBERT MATSON since dead and I doe give to his son ROBERT two hundred pounds if he live to be of age.

To JOHN MATSON of Sibbertswold one hundred pounds more.
And what relates to JOHN SLADDEN which I left to him and revoke only five hundred pounds if I give him or leave him a Note how to dispose of it.

And to JAMES MATSON my Nephew I revoke the Legacy above and give him five hundred pounds and fifty two pounds per annum to be paid weekly if my Executor think fitt.
To JOHN MATSON son of JAMES MATSON one hundred pounds more than within and his Sister one hundred pounds.
To my Servants a years wages.
