FIRST I give and bequeath unto my sons in law and their wives, John Matson of Shepherdswell in the County of Kent and Hester his wife, Samuel Dill of Dover in the said County and Mary his wife and James Smith of Guston in the said County and to each and every of them the sum of five pounds apiece of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid them within one month after my decease to buy them mourning.
ITEM I give and bequeath unto my sons Robert Matson and Thomas Matson my executors hereafter named the sum of five pounds apiece of like lawfull money for their trouble and pains in taking upon them the Burthen and Execution of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby order and direct my said Executors within two months after my decease to pay and distribute the sum of forty shillings unto and among such poor persons and in each part as they my said Executors in their discretion shall think proper.
ITEM All the Rest and Residue of my Goods, chattels, ready money and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever after my Debts, Legacies and Funeral expenses and other charges in and about the same or the Execution of this my will are paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto the several persons and to the Uses, Intente and purposes hereinafter mentioned touching and conserving the same (that is to say)
One full sixth part thereof (the whole in six equal parts to be
divided) unto my said son Robert Matson to and for his own use and benefit,
one other sixth part thereof unto my said son Thomas Matson and to and for his own use and benefit,
one other sixth part thereof unto my son in law Michael Wood and Elizabeth his wife to and for their own use and benefit,
one other sixth part thereof to all the children of my late son Charles Matson deceased, which shall be living at the Day
of my death equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to be paid unto their mother Judith Matson
widow to and for their own use and I do hereby order and direct that the release or discharge of the said Judith
Matson shall be a full discharge to my executor for the value
and if any of the said children should happen to
dye before their legacies become payable then I give and bequeath the part or share of him, her or them so
dying unto the survivors and survivor of them equally to be divided between them share and share alike
and other sixth part thereof unto to my son in law Thomas Dowker and Susannah his wife, to and for their own use
and benefit
and the remaining sixth part thereof unto my son in law John Spratt and Dorothy his wife to and
for their own use and benefit
and I do hereby order and direct the said several legacies herein before given and bequeathed by me to the said Robert Matson, Thomas Matson, Michael Wood and Elizabeth his wife, and to the children of my late son Charles Matson deceased and to the said Thomas Dowker and Susannah his wife and John Spratt and Dorothy his wife as aforesaid to be paid within six calendar months next after my decease
and LASTLY I do hereby make, ordain, constitute and appoint the said Robert Matson and Thomas Matson
Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke, frustrate, and make void all former and
other wills by me at any time heretofore made and do make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last
will and testament.
In Witness whereof to this my last Will and Testament contained in three sheets of paper I have to each of the
first two sheets set my hand and to the last sheet thereof my hand and seal the 6th Day of August in the five and
twentieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the 2nd by the Grace of God of Great Britain,
France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord l751. ANNE MATSON her mark.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Anne Matson as and for her last Will and Testament in the
presence of us we subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto in the presence of the said Anne Matson.
