In the Name of God Amen The firste daie of Octobre in the yere of our Lorde God [1550}
I John Maytam of the p[ar]ishe of Great Charte beinge of godlie remembrannce (thancks be unto almighti God) ordeyne and make this my presente testamente and laste will in man[ne[r and fourme folowinge
Fyrst I bequethe my Soule unto Almighti God my maker and Savior Jesu Christe and my bodie to be buried wthin the Churcheyeard of Greate Charte aforesaid

Item I will Sibble my wiefe shall have all my moveable goodes to her use and behofe whom I ordeigne and make to be my sole executrix And she to dispose and distribute Amonge my Children & herse [heirs] as she thinckes most beste after her discrecion

Item I will that my wieffe shall immediatli after my decease Redeme and fetch in a piece of my Land Called Solefelde nowe beinge in thands of Thomas Kemble and then she to have it all the terme of her Lieffe
And I will that my wieffe shall geve or paie unto Marion my dawghter at the tyme of her mariage one Cowe or the value thereof

This is the Laste will of me the foresaid John Maitam by me made and declared the daye and yere above rehersed

First I will that Sible my wieffe shall have my messuage that I nowe dwell in and all the lands thereto belongynge (for the) terme of her naturall Lieffe
And I desire Edward Androwe or Antonie Kennett her brother to be a staie? for her and to geve her good Counsell

To this witnessethe
Willm Fowle; Willm Lovell; John Hever; Edward Carpintar and others
