In the name of God Amen the iiijth daie of Februarie in te yeare of our lord God 1605 and in the yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne lord James by ye grace of God, King of England Scotland France & Ireland, Defender of ye faith, etc., that is to saie of England France and Ireland the third and of Scotland the 39th
I John Millen of the parish of Westwell in the Countie of Kent Yeoman beeing sicke in body, but of good and perfect memory, laud and praise bee to the almightie, doe make Constitute and ordaine this my prsent Testament Concerning any laste Will in manner & forme following
Imprimis I Comend my soule unto Almightie God my maker and Redeemer and my bodie to bee buried in the Church or church yard of the parish Church of Westwell aforesaid

Item I will that after my debts payd and Funerall xpences discharged, that all my houses and lands of Deane Court aforesaid, my two houses in Westwell Streete, and all my householde stuffe and goods whatsoever, and my stocke upon ye ground bee by mine overseers thereafter named disposed and set forth for ye best use profit and Comoditie for the bringing uppe and maintenance of Bridget Millen my wife ..... [black splodge on page] only children untill my eldest sonne John Millen shall accomplishe the full age of one and twenty yeares and then hee the said Jo: Millen to have all the said houses and lands of Deane Crt. aforesaid to his owne use during the lease, and then hee to renewe the same

Item I will that the said Bridget my wief when the said John Millen my sonne shall accomplishe the said age of one and twentie yeares shall have iijl [£3] yearlie during the sayd lease to bee paid unto her by the said John Millen my sonne
Item I will that the proffit and goods wch shalbe left and unspente of the maintenance and bringing up of my said wief and children at the accomplishing of the said age of one and twentie yeares by the said John Millen my sonne shalbe equallie devided and pted [parted] amongst them my said wief and children

Item I will that when the said John Millen my eldest sonne shall accomplishe the said age of 21 yeares, That the rent of the twoe houses on Westwell Streete aforesaid during the leasse shall goe towards the maintenance of my twoe youngest sonnes

And of this my last will and testament I Constitute make and ordaine the said John Millen my eldest sonne sole executor
And alsoe I make and appoint John Millen of London & Timothie Millen of Westwell aforesaid my twoe brethren overseers of this my present last will and testament

Probatum fuit: 8th May 1605.
