In the name of God Amen The Fifteenth daye of June 1612 in the Tenth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lorde James by the grace of God, King of England, Fraunce and Ireland, defender of the faith etc., and the five and Fortith of Scotland
I John Millen thelder of Oldstreete in the Countie of Midd. and in the pishe [parish] of St. Giles wthout Crepulgate London, Yeoman beeing whole in bodie and of good and pfect [prefect] remembrance (thanks be to God) doe make and declare this my last will in manner and forme following (That is to saye)
First and principallie I comende my Soule to God faithfullie beleeving by the death and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour to hath free forgiveness of all my Synnes and to inheritt the kingedome of heaven And I comitt my bodye to the earth to be decentlie buried att the discretion of my Executrix heereafter named

And I will that all such debts as I shall happen to owe att the tyme of my death be trulie satisfied and paid
Item I give to the poore people of the Lordshipp of Wenlock Barne in the said pish Twentie shillings to be distributed amongest them att the discretion of my Executrix

Item Whereas there is due and owing unto my by one Richard Chambers Twentie poundes due debt, my will and mynde is that my Executrix shall as convenientlie after my decease as may bee doe her best endevour att the charges of Thomas Millen my Brother and Richard Plummer my brother in law to receave and gett the same sume of Twentie poundes and after the same shalbe so receaved and hadd I give Tenne poundes thereof to my said Brother Thomas Millen and the other Tenne poundes the residue thereof to my said brother in law Richard Plummer

Item I give and bequeath unto Robert Millen my brother Twentie shillings
And I give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Millen Twentie poundes of lawfull English money to bee paid him wthin two yeares next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto every of the sonnes of John Millen my elder brother, deceased (Except John and Robert two of his sonnes) Five poundes of like money a peece To be paid unto every of the said sonnes of my said brother John Millen (except before excepted) att such tyme respectivelie as every of them shall accomplysh and come to his full age of one and Twentie yeares

Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Timothye Millen Twelve pence
Item I give unto John Millen, sonne of James Millen my Brother deceased, Twelve pence
and to John Millen sonne of the said John Millen last herein before named Two shillings and six pence
Item I give and bequeath unto Joane Farne daughter of Thomas Farne my god daughter Five poundes of like money To be paid her wthin Two yeares next after my decease

Item I give to John Kinge, Marrian King and Abigall King, Children of Giles King and Joane his late wife my Sister deceased Fortie shillings of like money a peece To be paid wthin Two yeares next after my decease respectivelie to such of them as shalbe then living
Item I give and bequeath unto my good frend Edward White Scrivenor fifftie shillings to make him a Ring

The rest and residue of all my goodes Chattels and debts whatsoever not in this my will given nor devised, my debts beeing paid and funerall charges borne, I give and devise unto my deere and loving Wife Rose Millen Whome I make and ordayne sole Executrix of this my Testament and last will
And I make my said very good frend Edward White Supvisor of the same my Testament and last will desiring him to bee aydinge and assisting my said Wife in the due execucon of this my Testament and last will so sonne as convenietlie he maye

And as concerning the disposition of all my freehold lands, tenements and hereditaments whatsoever wth all their appurtenancs my will and mynd is herein as followeth, vizt.

First I give graunte and devise unto the said Rose Millen my loving and deeare Wief all and singuler my said freehould landes, tenements and hereditaments wth all their appurtenancs whatsoever scituate, lyeinge and being in the Counties of Kent and Essex or either of them or els where (Except the landes and groundes called Reynam in the County of Kent or by whatsoever other name or names they are called nowe in the occupacon of the saide Timothie Millen my brother) To have and to hould all the same my freehold landes Tenements and hereditaments (except before excepted) unto the said Rose my wife and her assignes for and during her naturall lief

And after her decease I give and bequeath graunt and devise All that my Mannor or Lordship called Deane Court in the Countie of Kent wth thappurtenncs [the appurtenances] nowe in the occupacon of Bridgett Millen or her assignee or assignees unto my Nephew John Millen sonne of my said brother John Millen deceased and of the said Bridgett and to the heires and assignes of the same John Millen sonne of the said John Millen my brother deceased for ever

Item I give graunt and devise (after the decease of my said wief) All those my lands and groundes wth thappurtenncs whatsoever called Water Keynall als [alias] Water Channell now in the occupacon of one ____ Hunt scituate lyeinge and being in the Countie of Essex unto my Nephew Robert Millen sonne of my said brother John Millen deceased and to the heires of the said Robert Millen for ever (after the decease of my said wief)

Item I give graunt and devise all those my freehold landes and groundes wth thappurtenncs called Crook berkins or by some other such like name lyeing and being in the said Countie of Essex unto my brother Richard Millen and to his heires for ever

Lastlie I give and bequeath graunt and devise unto my brother Robert Millen All those my said lands and groundes called Reynam or by some other such like name wth thappurtenncs scituate in the said Countie of Kent before menconed to be excepted To have and to hould the same last menconed landes and groundes unto the said Robert Millen and his heirs for ever ymediatlie after my decease

In Witnes whereof to every one of theis foure sheets of paper contayning herein my last Will and Testament I have sett my hand and putt my seale to a labell fixed at the Topp thereof the daye and yeare first above written
The marke of the said John Millen thelder [The Elder]

Memorandum that this Testament and last will contayning theis foure sheetes of paper was this fifteenth daye of June 1612 above written subscribed every sheete thereof by the said John Millen thelder by putting his marke thereunto and by him sealed all the sheetes togeather att the topp hereof and by him declared to bee his testament and last will in the presence of us witnesses
