In the Name of God Amen this Eighth day of February Anno dini 1719 and in the Sixth Year of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord George by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc.
I John Millner of Deptford in the County of Kent Mariner being of good health in body and of Sound memory (praised be God) and not knowing how it may please God to deale with me beyond the Seas But considering the uncertainty of this present Transitory life do make and declare these presents to contain my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
First and principally I comend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing to be saved thrugh the Merritt death passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and my body to the Earth or to the Sea as it shall please God to order and as for and concerning all Such Temporall Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I do give devise and bequeath the same as followeth (that is to say)

First I will that all my Debts and Funerall Charges be first paid and discharged and all the rest residue and remainder of all and Singular Such Wages Sum and Sums of Money Lands Tenements Goods Chattells and Estate whatsoever wherewith at the time of my decease I shall be possessed or invested or which shall then belong or of Right appertaine unto me I do give devise and bequeath unto my affectionate Freinds Joseph Merchant and Elizabeth his Wife to hold to them their heirs Executors Administrators and Assignes for ever

And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said Joseph Merchant full and Sole Executor
But in case of his death before me then the said Elizabeth Merchant Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
and do revoke all former Wills and Deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made and do ordaine theses presents to Stand and be for and as my last Will and Testament for ever
