In the Name of God Amen the Twentieth day of October in the thirty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety one
I Sarah Milner of Preston Hall in the Parish of Aylesford in the County of Kent Widow being in health of body and of sound and disposing Mind and Memory (praised be God) do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First and principally (I) Surrender up my Soul into the Hands of almighty God my Creator hoping to be saved by and through the only Merits and Satisfaction of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer and my Body I commit to the Earth and do desire that my remains may be Interred near the remains of my dear deceased Husband in the Parish Church of Aylesford aforesaid in as private a manner as decency will admit of by and at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named

and I do request the favor of my Executrix that she will give my late Servant Elizabeth Keeble the Sum of Twenty pounds at such times and in such manner as she shall think proper
And I do desire and request my Executrix that she do not put any of my servants into Mourning

Item I give and bequeath unto my Cousin Mrs. Frances Champneys the Sum of Fifty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain;
to my last Husband’s much esteemed Friend The Reverend Samuel Denne the Sum of Fifty pounds of like Money;
to my Cousin Miss Harriett Burt the Sum of Twenty pounds of like Money;
all which said severall Legacies I do order and direct shall be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named within six Months next after my decease

Item I give to my late Husbands Niece Mary Atkinson Twenty Guineas to buy her a Ring to wear in Remembrance of me
Item I give and bequeath unto the said Mary Wilkinson* the Sum of Six hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain
* These are clearly not the same surname – also see below!
Item I give and bequeath unto my late Husbands Nephew Charles Milner Esquire the Sum of One thousand pounds of like money;
which Legacies of Six hundred pounds to the said Mary Atkinson * and one thousand pounds to the said Charles Milner I do order and direct to be paid unto them respectively within Six Months next after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Belcher
And I do hereby charge and make liable my real Estate to and with the payment of the said Legacies accordingly

Item I give and bequeath all and every my Money and Securities for Money Money in the Public Funds arrears of Rents due at my decease Goods Chattels and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality sover the same be (after and Subject to the payment of my Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences) unto my dear Sister Elizabeth Belcher her Executors and Administrators

Item I give and devise all and every my Manors Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whereof or wherein for any other person or persons In Trust for me are or is seized of any Estate of Inheritance in possession Reversion Remainder or Expectancy with their and every of their Appurtenances and all other my real Estate whatsoever (Subject nevertheless and charged and chargeable to and with the payment of the said Legacy of Six hundred pounds to my said late Husbands Niece Mary Atkinson and of the said Legacy of One thousand pounds to my said late Husbands Nephew Charles Milner within Six Months next after the death of my said Sister Elizabeth Belcher) unto my said Sister Elizabeth Belcher her Heirs and Assigns for ever

And I do make constitute and appoint my said Sister Elizabeth Belcher sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do revoke all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper set my hand and seal (to wit) my hand to the first sheet and my hand and sea to this last sheet dated the day and year first above written

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the above named Sarah Milner the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereunto

This Will was proved at London with two Codicils the Eighth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and four before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Elizabeth Belcher Spinster the Sister of the deceased and the Sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer

First Codicil I give and bequeath to my Sister Elizabeth Belcher my four Silver Candle sticks which I bought with my own Money and likewise I bequeath her my four dozen of four pronged Silver Spoon-handled forks that I bought with my own Money also

Second Codicil I likewise request my Executrix will give to Willm Hickmot Mary Mander and Elizabeth Hinear Ten pounds each in Lieu of Mourning if they are in my Service at my decease and likewise all my Servants in lieu of Mourning Five pounds each
