In the Name of God Amen the xvth daye of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God 1616
I John Mownt of the parrishe of Sheperdswell in the Countye of Kent labouringe man (being sicke in bodye but of p[er]fecte remembrannce thancks I humblie give unto Almightie God for the same) doe ordeyne this my laste will and testament in manner followeinge
Firste I will and bequeath my soule into the mercifull hands of almightie God that gave yt and my bodye to be buryed at the disretion of myne executor

Item I will and bequeath my dwelling houses wth the sevrall edifices thereto annexed together wth all the grownd or lands thereto belonginge (all wch I bought of one John Smyth) to my eldest sonn George Mownte duringe his lyffe and after him the same to remayne to John Mownte my godsonn, the sonne of the sayd George

Item I give unto my sonne Richard Mownt of Nonington the sume of seaven pounds of Currant money of England wch money is in the hands of the sayd Richard my sonn as (per his) bond, soe that my mynd ys he shall have his bond delivred unto him (in regard of this my guift) as satisfyed and dischardged
Item I further give and bequeath unto my sayd sonne Richard Mownte my litle house or tennement wch stands by the Comon well in Shepperdswell aforesaid duringe the n[atur]rall lyffe of my sonne George Mownte

Item I give unto my daughter Alice Chapman the sume of twelve pence
Item I give to my daughter Marye Griggs the sume of twelve pence
Item I give to my daughter Parnell Matham the sume of twentye shillinges
Item I give to my daughter Ane Petley the sume of twentye shillinges
Item I give to Mathew Petlye the sonne of my sayd daughter Anne the sume of tenn shillings
Item I give to my godsonne William Chapman the sume of fyve shillings
Item I gyve to my grandchild Joyce the daughter of my sonne George Mownte the sume of fyve shillings

all wch legacyes of money I will to be raysed forth of my houshold goods and to be payd and dischardged wthin one whole yeare afer my decease by my sonne George Mownte whome I ordeyne and make my full and sole executor of this my laste will and testament
laste of all my funerall dischardged and my legacyes satisfyed and pformed all other my goods unbequeathed I give unto my sayd executor and sonne Goerge Mownte aforesayd

In wittnes whereof I have to this my last will and testament put to my hand the daye and moneth and yeare aforesayd in the presence of these wittnesses

Alice 30 Jun 1567 at St. Nicholas, Sturry; George Mounte, s. of John 11 Oct 1573; Martha 13 Mar 1575; Annis 18 Nov 1576; Parnell 19 Apr 1579; Richard 13 May 1581 – all the latter baptised at St. Andrew, Shepherdswell.
Daughter Alice Mount married Nicholas Chapman at Shepherdswell on 19 Jul 1588.
Daughter Parnell Mount married John Matcham [Matham] 25 Jun 1604 at St. Mary, Nonington, Kent.
