Item I give unto Joane my wife 40s a year to be paid by my sons James and Henry
20s a piece to be paid quarterly at the 4 usual feasts of the year that is to say at St Michael and
Christmas at Lady and Midsummer by equal payments and for default of payment after
demands to distrain in and upon the two houses I bought of Larkin and Brice for one twenty
shillings a year and upon the lands called Highfields bought of Richard Mudle for the other
20s a year.
Item I give her 4 bushels of wheat to be paid unto her by mine Executors.
Item I give unto Edward my son one chest one pair of sheets and a tablecloth 2 table napkins 4
pieces of pewter a brass pot one Cushion of the best sort and in money vs.
Item I give unto Henry my son one bedstead one bed and bolster one Coverlet one blanket
two pair of sheets one tablecloth two table napkins four pieces of pewter my best brass kettle
and all the sheep it shall please God I shall be seized of and one Cushion.
Item I give unto John Wilson my grandchild Ten shillings to be paid unto him at his age
of xxi years.
Item I give unto my daughter Rebecca 12d and unto her daughter Joane my Grandchild
10s to be paid unto her at her age of 21 years.
Item I give unto Elizabeth daughter of my brother Arthur and my Goddaughter 2s 6d and
Every of his other children 12d a piece.
Item unto my Godson Robert Browne 12d.
All the rest of my goods cattells and chattells whatsoever and wheresoever my debts and legacies and funeral being paid I give them unto my son James and do make him and my brother Arthur Muddle mine Executors and I do give my said brother twenty shillings, and lastly my will is that Joane my wife shall have the use of the Chamber behind the stock and liberty to come unto the fire and to the well and room in the close to lay her wood during her natural life if she please to tarry here or else not.
This is also my last will and testament Concerning my houses and lands made the day and
year first above written. First I give unto my son Edward all that my house and lands with the
appurtenances laying and being in the parish of Stockbury and now in the occupation of
James Humfrey to him and his heirs forever.
Item I give unto James my son the house and
lands wherein I now dwell lying and being in the parish of Hollingbourne with the
appurtenances to him and his heirs forever.
Lastly I give unto Henry my son my two houses
in the parish of Thurnham with the lands thereunto belonging and with the appurtenances to
him and his heirs forever, which said houses and lands I bought of Larkin of Stockbury and
Brice of Boxley.
And my will is that if any of my said sons do happen to die without heirs of
their bodies lawfully to be begotten that one of them shall be the others heir as well of the
movables as of the houses and lands.

Memorandum that before the sealing hereof I give unto my son Henry the sum of xxx� of lawful money of England to be paid unto him by my son James when he the said Henry shall come unto xxi years of age and for non payment of the said xxx� the said Henry shall enter upon half the house and lands given unto my son James and take the half profit thereof until the said xxx� be paid.
