Memorandum Robert Rider late belonging to his Majestys Ship the Deptford being sick was put on shoar the fifth day of this instant April in the Town and Burrough of Deal in the County of Kent and then sent to a certain place there called the Hospital when and where the said Robert Rider being of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding did in the presence of us Peter Burk and Stephen Levandelow belonging also to his said Majestys Ship the Deptford declare that

all and singular his effects whatsoever he gave to Katherine Bastain of Deal aforesaid

And the said Robert Rider bid us then present bear Witness that such was his Will or words to that effect the same being made at the last Sickness of the said Robert Rider

As Witness our hands this Twenty Second day of April in the Tenth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord King George Anno Domini 1724
