I appoint one Trustee to my Estates George Newman Gentleman of No. 38 Bedford Place Kensington Middlesex
I appoint for Executors namely John Barker Gentleman a first cousin of No. 27 Cadogan Place Chelsea
Middlesex and Jane Newman first cousin and the wife of George Newman Gentleman of No. 38 Bedford Place Kensington Middlesex
I bequeath the following sums or legacies viz
To Robert Sale my Brother twenty pounds per annum for his life
To Jane Newman my first cousin one hundred pounds of lawful money
To John Barker my first cousin one hundred pounds of lawful money
To the Widow of my late Brother James Sale of Sundridge twenty pounds
Also to their five children viz Elizabeth James Robert Mary and Emma Sale to each and every one of
them twenty pounds on their attaining the age of twenty one years each
I bequeath to Ann Shewbridge Spinster of Penshurst the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money to
be paid within one month after my decease
Also I give the whole of the poultry at Well Place and twenty pounds in value of the household furniture
or goods to the said Ann Shewbridge Spinster
Also I leave her the sum of twenty pounds per Annum for her life to be paid quarterly or every three months.
Also I make my freehold Estate called Stone Cross Farm and all my Estates chargeable with the sum of twenty pounds and twenty pounds yearly to be paid to the said Robert Sale and Ann Shewbridge spinster quarterly to them respectively during their lives.
Also I do direct my Executors and the trustees to sell the whole of my Personal Estates and other property to pay the debts and legacies and vest the surplus in Government securities for the use with the monies and interests I bequeath the whole to the said five children of my late brother James Sale share and share alike to each of them when twenty one years of age.

Appeared Personally John Ashby of Barden Mill Tonbridge in the County of Kent and John Neale of No. 2
Richmond Terrace East Street Walworth in the County of Surrey Gentleman and made oath that they
knew and were well acquainted with Thomas Sale late of Penshurst in the County of Kent deceased for
some time before and to the time of his death and during such their knowledge and acquaintance with
the said deceased have frequently seen him write and also write and subscribe his name whereby they
have become well acquainted with his manner and character of handwriting and subscription and these
appearers having now with care and attention perused and inspected the paper writing now hereunto
annexed purporting to be the last Will and Testament of the said deceased and which begins thus �The
Will of Thomas Sale Penshurst Kent viz� ends thus �dated the seventeenth day of August 1837� and is
thus subscribed �Thomas Sale� say that they verily and in their consciences believe the whole body
series and contents of the said Will and the names �Thomas Sale� subscribed thereto as aforesaid to be
all of the proper handwriting and subscription of the said Thomas Sale deceased.
