I give and bequeath to my son William Sales of Down in the said County Licensed
Victualler all the money he has received of me up to the present time and also thirty
pounds sterling for the repairs of his premises and also the two coppers I purchased and
placed in the Brewery
I also give and bequeath to him a china bowl silver punch ladle and one silver table spoon
To my son Timothy Sales carpenter of the parish of Down Kent I give and bequeath to him all the money he has received of me up to the present time and also fifty pounds sterling for the repairs of his premises and also five silver tea spoons one silver table spoon and one pair of sugar tongs all marked with the initials of his name likewise two small pictures of the Isle of Wight.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Lewis wife of William Lewis of the parish of Down Kent Brewer sixty pounds stirling and also one silver table spoon six silver tea spoons one pair silver sugar tongs and the painted portrait of her late sister Sarah and also the picture of myself
I give and bequeath to my daughter Keziah Gorbell wife of Thomas Kewell Gorbell
stationer and bookseller of the Commercial Road in the parish of Stepney Middlesex all
the money they have had of me up to the present time and also fifty pounds stirling and
also the amount of money which �� was garentee for
I also give and bequeath to the said Keziah Gorbell one silver table spoon pair of ... ...

I give and bequeath to my sister Sarah Francis wife of Daniel Francis farmer of Ardleigh
Essex the sum of ten pounds stirling
I do also give and bequeath to my two daughters Mrs Elizabeth Lewis and Mrs Kezia
Gorbell all my wearing apparel linen glass china earthenware and rings
I do also will and desire that all my household furniture and whatever other effects that I may have undisposed of may be sold and that after all my just debts funeral expences and the administration to this my last will and testament are paid and settled whatever sum of money may then remain may be equally divided amongst all my children as afore mentioned
I do also appoint Mr William Sales my son and Mr Thomas Kewell Gorbell my son in law also my daughter Mrs Elizabeth Lewis Executors and Executrix of this my last will and testament and should either of my children die previous to my decease I do desire that the portion left for their benefit may discend to their family in due course

In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, in the goods of Elizabeth Sales widow deceased
Appeared Personally John Gorbell of No.12 New Suffolk Street Commercial Road East
in the County of Middlesex Grocer and made oath that he was present at the execution of
and is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last will and testament of the said Elizabeth
Sales late of Down in the County of Kent widow deceased the said will being now
hereunto annexed bearing date the twelth day of May one thousand eight hundred and
forty eight And he lastly made oath that on the twelth day of the said month of May one
thousand eight hundred and forty eight she the said testatrix duly executed her said will
by signing her name Elizabeth Sales at the foot or end thereof in the presence of him the
deponent and of James Carter the other subscribed witness thereunto That he the
deponent and the said James Carter were then present together at the same time and that
thereupon they both of them set and subscribed their names to the said will in the
presence of the said testatrix and of each other as witnesses attesting such the due
execution thereof � John Gorbell � On the twenty fifth day of April in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty the said John Gorbell was duly sworn to the
truth of the aforegoing affidavit before me � A Waddilove � Nathaniel Robarts Not. Pub.
Proved at London 29th April 1850 before the Worshipful Jesse Addams Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oaths of William Sales the son and Thomas Kewell Gorbell two of the executors to whom administration was granted having been first sworn duly to administer. Power reserved of making the like grant to Elizabeth Lewis (wife of William Lewis) the daughter the other executor when she shall apply for the same.
