Imprimis to my sonn Bishop (whom in the name of God I blesse) I give Five pounds And moreover I give unto him yearely out of my Estate
Tenn pounds soe long as he be obedient to pleasing to his mother my Executrix hereafter named
Item I give unto my daughter Anne (To whom I have already given a portion in Marriage) Two Hundred pounds more To be laid out within some
convenient tyme after my decease in the Purchase of some lands of inheritance or some other good Estate by my Executrix And to be setled upon the
said Anne and her children in such manner As my Executrix and overseers hereafter named shall direct and appoint
And in the meane tyme I doe order and appoint That my Executrix shall pay unto the said Anne Twelve pounds yearly for the loane and
forbearance of the said Two Hundred pounds untill the tyme of the said Purchase
Provided neverthelesse that if Robert Newman now Husband of the said Anne shall refuse to give a sufficient Release and discharge unto my
Executrix of such moneys and portion as I have promised unto him with the said Anne being thereunto required in the presence of Two
Credible witnesses Then I give the said Two Hundred pounds unto my Executrix
And if the said Anne shall dye before such Purchase as aforesaid Then I give the said Two Hundred Pounds unto the Children of the said Anne who
shall be liveing att the tyme of her decease equally to be devided amongst them And for default of such issue To my owne Children
equally to be devided amongst them
Item to my daughter Elizabeth (To whom alsoe I have already given a portion in Marriage) I doe give Two Hundred and Fifty pounds to be
alsoe laid out within some convenient tyme after my decease in the purchase of some lands of Inheritance or some other good Estate by my Executrix
And to be setled for the use of my said daughter Elizabeth in such manner as my Executrix and overseers hereafter named shall direct and appoint
And that untill such Purchase I doe order will and appoint That my Executrix shall pay yearly unto the said Elizabeth Fifteene pounds for the
interest of the said Two Hundred and Fifty pounds
And if the said Elizabeth shall dye before such purchase without issue Then I give the said Two Hundred and Fifty pounds unto my owne Children
who shalbe then liveing equally to be devided amongst them, But if the said Elizabeth soe dyeing before such Purchase shall leave behind her a
Child or Children Then I give the said Two Hundred and Fifty pounds unto her Child or Children
Provided nevertheles That if Charles Hoole now husband of the said Elizabeth shall refuse to give a sufficient release and discharge unto my Executrix of such moneys and portion as I have promised him with the said Elizabeth Then I give the said Two Hundred and Fifty pounds unto my Executrix
Item I give unto my Daughter Mary Three Hundred pounds To be paid unto her within Two yeares next after my decease or on the day of her
marriage if shee marry sooner with the consent of her mother and my overseers which shall First happen
Item I give unto my daughter Susanna Three Hundred pounds To be paid ^unto^ her att her age of one and Twenty yeares or on the day of her
marriage if shee marry before that tyme with the consent of her mother and my overseeres which shall First happen
Item if my Executrix be put to Charges for the getting in my Estate my will is That the Costs damages and Charges occasioned thereby shall be equally borne by my Executrix and Children And to be deducted out of their Legacies
Item if my wife shall marry againe Then I give out of my Estate Fifty pounds a peece unto every one of my Children over and above the Legacies
hereby before given and devised unto them
Item I enjoyne all dutifull obedience of all my Children to their mother and mutuall due Love to each other
And I do hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my deare wife Elizabeth Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament unto
whom I doe give and devise All the rest and residue of my goods Chattells moneys debts and Personall Estate what soever
And I intreate my worthy Freinds Mr John Baynes Mr Robert Pinsent and Mr Edward Brewster to be overseers thereof And to counsell and direct
my wife
And I leave my Interring and funerall charges to my Executrix and overseers which I desire not to be Costly but frugall and decent
And I hereby revoake all former wills And appoint this and none other To be and stand for my last will and Testament

Notes:
Phillip Satterthwaite was baptised 11 Feb 1600, Lamport, Northamptonshire, the fourth son of Francis Satterthwaite and Mary Winter.
He matriculated 26 October 1621, Trinity College, Oxford, Doctor of Divinity, although The Visitation of Kent has Doctor of Civil Law.
On 17 Apr 1634 he was appointed Schoolmaster at Tenterden Free School, Tenterden, Kent.
He married Elizabeth Rolfe (Relfe) (born c.1610) 30 November 1634, St Margaret-At-Cliffe, Kent, daughter of Richard Rolfe (Relfe) of Tenterden.
At the time of marriage he was described as of Tenterden, Clerk, MA.
He was subsequently the Vicar at Birling, Kent appointed 15 January 1643 until he resigned 22 November 1660 and then finally Rector at Ibstock,
Leics from 10 June 1662-28 August 1666. The Clergy of the Church of England Database records his death as 28 August 1666, Ibstock.
Three of his daughters married: Elizabeth Satterthwaite married Charles Hoole 27 December 1653, North Cray, Kent.
Ann Satterthwaite married Robert Newman 31 August 1660, Bromley, Kent, England.
Susanna Satterthwaite married Arthur Tooker 19 May 1666, Bromley, Kent.
Bishop Satterthwaite Admitted sizar to Trinity 20 February 1656, matriculated 1656-7, migrated to
Peterhouse where he was a scholar, BA 1663-4 source: Alumni Cantabrigens.
