In the name of God Amen I William Savage of Hothfield in the County of Kent Blacksmith being Sick in body but of Sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God for the Same do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in Writing in maner and form following (vizt)
First and principally I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping and assuredly believing to obtain pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins in and through the merits Death and passion of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body I comitt to the Earth to be Decently buried at the Discrecon of my Executors hereafter named and as for those worldly goods which It hath pleased God to bless me with in this world I give and bequeath the same as followeth

First I give and bequeath unto William Savage my Eldest Son one Silver Cup marked with W.S. to be delivered to him when He shall attain to the age of one and twenty years by my Executors
Item I give unto John Savage my Youngest Son two Silver Spoones to be delivered to him when he shall attain to the age of one and twenty years by my Executors

Item I give and bequeath unto my Eldest Daughter Margaret Savage the Sume of Five Pounds of lawfull money of Great Britian when she shall attain to the age of one and twenty years by my Executors as also two Silver Spoons with half of all my Linnen of what kind soever to be paid and delivered to her when she shall attain the respective age of one and twenty yeares as abovesaid

Item I give and bequeath unto Hannah Savage my Youngest Daughter the Sume of ten pounds of lawfull money of Great Britian with two Silver Spoons and the other half part of all my Linnen (which said Linnen I desire may be equally divided between my two Daughters) to be paid and delivered to the said Hannah Savage when she shall attain the respective age of one and twenty years by my Executors

Item I give and bequeath unto Stephen Atkins of Ashford in the County of Kent Carpenter and John Jones of Faversham in the County aforesaid Blacksmith from and after my debts funerall Expences and the Charge of proving this my Will with the Several Sumes and perticulars abovemenconed are fully paid and discharged all the rest residue and remainder of my money, Plate, Bills, Bonds, Household stuff and Implements of household stuff and all other my Personal Estate of what nature or Kind Soever
In Trust to and for the Use benefitt and maintenance of my four Children abovenamed (viz) William, John, Margaret and Hannah Savage untill they shall come to their respective age or ages of one and twenty years
and I do hereby further declare my Will and Mind to be that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Stephen Atkins and John Jones and the Survivor of them for to allow for the Maintenance of any or all my Said Children as they or him in their or his opinion shall think fitt

Provided allways and my Will and Mind is that if my said Children or any of them shall live and come to their Severall and respective age or ages of one and twenty Years that what Shall remain over and above what is not already disposed of in the hands of the said Stephen Atkins and John Jones or the Survivor of them of any personal Estate I give and bequeath unto the said William, John, Margaret and Hannah Savage equally to be divided between them share and share alike when all my said Children shall come to the age of one and twenty Years

Item I make and ordain the said Stephen Atkins and John Jones Joynt Executors of this my last Will and Testament and lastly I do hereby revoke and Disanull all former Wills by me heretofore Made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness I the said William Savage the Testator have hereunto Set my hand and Seale this fourteenth Day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and two and twenty

Notes:
William Savage firstly married Mary Mercer 2 Sep 1680 at Hothfield.
Mary Savage, wife of William, was buried at Hothfield 28 Jun 1702.
William Savage, widower, blacksmith married Hannah Wright, spinster, both of Hothfield by Licence on 4 May 1704 at Hothfield.
Their children, all baptised at Hothfield: 18 Mar 1704/5 William; 9 Sep 1706 John & Margaret (twins); 1 Aug 1710 Hannah.
Hannah Savage, wife of William, was buried at Hothfield 3 Jan 1713.
William Savage was buried at St. Margaret, Hothfield on 21 Oct 1722.
Daughter Margaret Savage married Thomas Gratnail 11 Dec 1724 at Hothfield.
