I give devise and bequeath unto my dear and loving Wife Sarah Savage the Sum of Fifteen pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to buy her Mourning
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my loving daughter Mary Lloyd all that my now dwelling House with the Appurtenances and all my household Furniture thereunto belonging commonly called and known by the name of the Ivy House lying and being in the parish of Saint Margaret within the City of Rochester in the County of Kent aforesaid To have and to hold to my said loving Daughter Mary Lloyd her heirs Executors administrators and assigns for ever
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my said loving Wife Sarah Savage all that my other Messuage
or Tenement next adjoining to the aforesaid Ivy House now in the Tenure and occupacon of Francis
Galloway with all its Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate on the bank in the Parish of Saint
Margaret within the City of Rochester in the County aforesaid To have and to hold the same and
every part thereof unto my said loving wife for and during the term of her natural life
and from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife I give devise and bequeath the same and every part
thereof unto my dear and loving daughter Elizabeth Savage her heirs Executors administrators and assigns for ever
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my dear and loving daughter Elizabeth Savage the one third part of the profits of my Carving Trade of all the Contract of the two Navy Yards untill she arrives to the age of twenty one years of Chatham and Sheerness
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my dear and loving Son Thomas Savage all and ever part of my Implements and stock in the Carving Trade
Also I give devise and bequeath unto my loving Daughter Mary Lloyd all the Rest, Residue and Remainder of my Estate both real and personal apparel Bills Bonds and all Book debts that may be due to me at the time of my decease after payment of all my Just debts and Funeral Expences out of the same
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Trusty good Friends William Lloyd my Son in
Law the Husband of my Daughter Mary Lloyd aforesaid and Richard Woodrifte of the City of
Rochester aforesaid Shipwright Executors of this my last Will and Testament
likewise I constitute and appoint my Son in Law William Lloyd and my daughter Mary his Wife joint Guardians to the
care of my aforesaid daughter Elizabeth’s Education and property arising from the carving Contract
And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and every other or former Testaments Wills Legacies bequests and Executors by my in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament

our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty four

This Will was proved at London the twenty eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty five before the Worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William Lloyd one of the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased having been first Sworn duly to administer, power reserved of making the like grant to Richard Woodrift? the other Executor named in the said Will when he shall apply for the same

Daughter Mary Savage married William Lloyd by Licence on 20th August 1783 at St. Margaret, Rochester.
William Savage, Ba., married Sarah Allen, Sp., both of St. Paul, Deptford, on 24th July 1742. This is
one of London’s Clandestine Marriages. None of their children were christened in Chatham or Rochester.
