In the Name of God Amen I Susannah Scholey of Goodnestone near Wingham in the County of Kent Widow do make this my last Will and Testament

First I do hereby appoint John Dean of the City of Canterbury Cornhandler the Executor of this my last Will and Testament requesting him to accept the sum of five pounds as an acknowledgement for his trouble in carrying this my Will into execution

Also I give and bequeath unto my dear brother Thomas Bowes the sum of Twenty Pounds
I give and bequeath to my dear sister Elizabeth Rigden the sum of ten pounds
I give and bequeath to Sarah Bax the sum of ten pounds
I give and bequeath to my faithful servant Ann Church the sum of ten pounds

I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my property viz all my monies securities for monies stock Fixture Furniture linen wearing apparel and every... of Personal Property whatsoever and wheresoever unto the three following persons my Nieces Elizabeth Bax Ann Dean Mary Drury to be divided into three equal shares (the expences of my Funeral all my just debts and legacies being first duly paid)

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my Hand and Seal this 19th day of July in the in the year of our Lord 1820 Susannah Scholey Signed declared and published as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us

Whereas I the above named Testatrix Susannah Scholey have appointed John Dean of the City of Canterbury Executor of my last Will and Testament above written and who has since departed this life Now I the said Susannah Scholey do make and publish this present writing as a Codicil to my said Will and direct the same to be taken as part thereof
and do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Stephen Hooper of the Town and Port of Sandwich in the County of Kent Grocer full and sole Executor of my said Will in the place of the said John Dean
And I do hereby ratify and confirm my said Will in every respect except where the same is hereby altered In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this nineteenth day of September in the year One thousand eight hundred and twenty six _ Susannah Scholey
