This is the last Will and Testament of me Edward Seagers of Rodmersham in the County of Kent Yeoman made this Twenty ninth day of January in the Eleventh Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c. And in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy one as follows

I Give and Bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Seagers two Cows to be delivered to her by my Executor hereinafternamed Immediately After my Decease

And all the rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods, Chattles, Rights, Credits and Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever & of what Nature Sort or Quality soever the same shall be which I shall be possessed of at (the) Time of my Decease (from and after the Delivery of the beforementioned Two Cows, the Payment of all my Just Debts, Funeral Expences, of Proving this my last Will and Testament and other incident Charges and Expences) I Give and Bequeath unto my Son William Seagers his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I hereby make name Constitute and Appoint my said Son William Seagers Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
I hereby revoke all former Wills and other Testamentary Dispositions by me at any Time heretofore made and Declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set and Affixed my Hand and Seal the Day and Year first above written

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Edward Seagers the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Witnesses hereunder Written

The before Registered Will of Edward Seagers deced [deceased] was proved the 18th day of January 1777 before the Revd. Geo. Herne, Clerk, Surrogate to the Worshipful Francis Simpson, Doctor of Laws, Official General to the Revd. the Archdeacon of Canterbury, lawfully constituted by the oath of William Seager the sole Executor named in the said Will He being first sworn well and truly to perform the same &c.

Edward Seager was buried on 16th January 1777 at St. Nicholas, Rodmersham, Kent.
Edward Seager married Frances Nichols after banns on 8 Oct 1729 at St. John, Tunstall, Kent.
Son William was baptised at Rodmersham on 14 Oct 1739;
