In the name of God Amen The Three and twentieth daie of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God One thousand sixe hundred and sixteene,
I Edward See of the parish of Hearne in the County of Kent Esqr. beinge sicke in bodie but of very good and perfect remembrance doe ordaine and make this my present Testament and last will in manner and forme followinge;
First I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmightie God my heavenly Father trustinge through the meritts of Jesus Christ his deare and onely sonne my onely Saviour and Redeemer onely to be saved and by none other waies meanes or merritts whatsoever And as touching my body I committ it to the earth from wheare by the omnipotent power of my most gracious and glorious Creator it was first framed to be decently buried when it shall please the Lord to take it to his mercie out of this miserable and transitory world, in the North Chancell of the parish Church of Hearne where my ancestors have beene laid

Item I give unto the poore mans boxe of the said parish forty shillings to be paid by myne Executor hereafter named within one moneth next after my decease
Item I give and bequeath fortie shillings unto the Church of Hearne, to be imployed by the Churchwardens and parishioners at Easter next at theire election of Churchwardens to and for the maintenance and benefitt of the said Church from tyme to tyme for ever

Item I give unto Miss Alice See my Sister one hundred pounds of lawfull money of England, to be paid unto her by my said Executor within one moneth next after my decease
Alsoe I give and bequeath unto the said Alice See my Sister, all the household, and implements of houshold stuffe whatsoever now standinge and beinge in the house where she now dwelleth, the bed and bedsted whereon I usuallie lye only excepted, which my will and meaninge is my Executor shall have as now it is and standeth fullie furnished, and the Cupbord or presse in the same Chamber as it standeth
Item I doe further give unto the said Alice my Sister All such debts and reckoninge whatsoever as are now betweene us

Item I give unto my Sister Sara the wife of William Boys gent[leman] Twentie pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her my Executor within one yeare next after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Alice See the daughter of my brother William See one hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her, at her age of eighteene yeares

All the rest of my moveable goods unbequeathed my funerall expences, debts and legacies being performed, paid and discharged, I give and bequeath unto William See my brother whom I doe make sole Executor of this my last will and Testament

And I doe earnestly intreate my very good friend and loving kinsman Robte Knowler to be my Overseer to see this my Will performed accordinge to my will and meaninge herein expressed, and in regard of his favor and paines he shall take therein I give and bequeath unto him apeece of gold of twentie two shillings

In Witnes whereof I the said Edward See to this my present Testament and last will my hand and seale have sett Dated the daie and yeare first above written

This is the last Will and testament of mee the before named Edward See made and declared the daie and yeare first abovewritten touchinge and concerninge all my lands, Tenements and hereditaments, reversions or remainders whatsoever lyinge and beinge in the parishes of Hearne and Eastre [Eastry] or elsewhere wthin the Countie of Kent

Item I doe give and bequeath unto William See my brother, All my said lands, Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever And alsoe All my estate, right, title and interest into them or any of them, to him & his heires for ever

Elizabeth Miller her marke; Ezechiell Swift & Robert Hannyson

Probatum fuit: 7th October 1631

Edward See, gentill[man] was buried 27 Apr 1616 at St. Martin, Herne, Kent.
Edward Sea was baptised at St. Martin on 26 Oct 1578, s. of John Sea.
