Introduction
This index is based on information from one film covering session papers from 1657 to 1683.
I began with good intentions so there are more entries for the earlier dates than the later. This index does not cover all the papers on the film or all the names which may be in the papers noted. There are 1475 entries included.
These papers are a mixture of records such as witness statements, depositions, examinations, petitions, accounts, testimonials, lists of jury members and lists of prisoners. They are not in date order and some are undated. Many are difficult to read and some are in latin. Many of the folio numbers were not apparent and the papers were not always in order. For this reason I have included an alphabetical index and a listing of the entries in the order noted. The original order may help with the location of a particular entry on the film as well as providing other information from the same folio.
Despite the difficulties, it is possible that such papers give the only record of a person's occupation and if they made a statement it could provide useful information about their life.
