First I give to the poore of the parish of East Greenwch [East Greenwich] to bee destrybuted [distributed]
uppon the day of my buriall Fortie shillings
Item I give to my loving Freind Frances Simms thirtie shillings to buy him a Ringe
Item I give to Nowell Silke my eldest sonne three hundred pownds
And to Symon Silke my second son one hundred pownds
to bee paid when my said children shall attayne the age of one and twentie years
But in case my wife Alice shall marry wthin [within] two yeares after my decease then my will is that my
sonne Symon shall have two hundred pownds, payable as aforesaid
And in case eyther of them my said Children shall dye under age That then the Survivor shall have his portion
And my will and desire further is that the proffitt of the porcons given to my children shall be ymloyed [employed] to and for the education and preferment of my said children by the advise and counsell of my loving Brother (in Law) Richard Warner and Master John Cliffe whom I hereby apoint and earnestly desire to be overseer of this my last Will in noo wayes doubting of their care or affection yett desiring them to accept twenty shillings to either of them to bee bestowed or otherwise att their discrecon [discretion] in memorie of their Freind
Item I give to my loving Freind Edward Turner Fortie shillings to buy him a Ring
Lastlie I hereby apoint my loving Wife Alice sole Executrix of this my last will unto whose care under God I comend the educacon of my deere Children earnestly desiring her to bee advised by my Overseers above named in managing their portions for their preferment

This Will was proved at Westminster the Seaventh day of May one thousand six hundred Fiftie and three before the Judges for the probate of wills and granting Administrations apointed by an Act of Parliament Intitled and Act for probate of Wills and granting Administrations by the Oath of Alice Silk the Relict and Sole Executrix named in the said Will To whom Administration was granted & shee being First sworn well and trulye to Administer the same.

Symon Silke married Alice Warner on 25th March 1639 in London.
Symon and Alice Silke’s children, christened at St. Alphage, Greenwich:
1 Oct 1640 Elizabeth (Bu.: 26 May 1647); 19 Jul 1642 Nowell; 22 Dec 1644 Symon (Bu.: 22 Dec 1644).
Symon Silke’s burial (circa 1653) is not found, as it’s in the Commonwealth.
