Item I give and devise unto my loving wife Ann Sills the sum of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her by my said Executor within three months next after my decease
Item I give and devise unto my said wife Ann Sills all that my Messuage or Tenement called or known by the name of Daniel Hill with the lands and premises thereunto belonging with the appurtenances situate lying and being in the parish of Leveland in the said county of Kent and now in the occupation of John Ashdown or his assigns to hold unto my said wife Ann Sills and her heirs for and during the term of her natural life (she keeping the same in tenantable repair)
And from and after my said wife�s decease I give and devise the said Messuage land and premises unto
my son George Sills his heirs and assigns forever
And if my said wife shall happen to dye before he my said son George Sills shall attain his age of one and
twenty years then my Will and mind is that my said son John Sills shall receive and take the rents and
proffits of the said premises and bring up cloath educate and maintain my said son George Sills until he
shall attain his age of one and twenty years
Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife Ann Sills the bed and furniture thereto belonging and all her linnen which she had when I intermarried with her and such other furniture sufficient to furnish one room as my said Executor shall think proper to be delivered unto her within one month next after my decease
And I do hereby declare and my mind is that the Messuage money and goods by me hereby given to my
said wife is and are by me intended to be in full barr and satysfaction of Dower which she can or may
claim of into or out of my Messuages lands tenements and premises or otherwise
And in case she shall refuse to release the same I do declare the devise and bequests to her void
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Anthony Sills and his heirs and assigns forever one annuity or yearly rent charge of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be issuing had taken received perceived and going out of all that my Messuage or Tenement lands hereditaments and premises with the appurtenances situate lying and being in Throwley otherwise Throwleigh in the said County of Kent and now or late in the tenure or occupation of Stephen Humphrey or his assigns to be paid unto my said son Anthony Sills his heirgs and assigns by half yearly payments that is to say on the Feast days of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Annunciation of the blessed virgin Mary by even and equal portions without any deduction or abatement whatsoever for or in request of any taxes cesses or other matter or thing the first payment thereof to be begin and be made on the first of the Feast days which shall first happen after my decease
and if it shall the said annuity or yearly rent charge or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid longer than by the space of one and twenty days next over or after either of the said Feasts or days of payment on which the same ought to be paid then I do give my said son Anthony and his heirs and assigns full power and authority to enter into and upon the said Messuage or Tenement land and premises out of which the said annuity is made payable or any part thereof and to distrain for the said annuity or yearly rent charge and all arrears thereof (if any be) and the distress and distresses then and there found to take impound lead drive carry away and detain until the said annuity or yearly charge and all arrears thereof and the costs charges and expences of such distress and distresses shall be fully paid and satisfied
Item I give and devise unto my son William Sills and his heirs and assigns forever all that my said Messuage or tenement land and premises lying and being in Throwley otherwise Throwleigh and to be in the tenure or occupation of the said Stephen Humphrey subject nevertheless unto the payment of the said annuity or yearly rent charge of five pounds a year clear of all taxes by me given to my said son Anthony Sills as aforesaid
Item I give and devise unto my said son John Sills all that my Messuage or tenement barn stable
blacksmiths forge garden land and premises thereto belonging with their appurtenances situate lying
and being at Badlesmere aforesaid at a certain place there called Badlesmere Leese and now in my own
occupation
and also all those three pieces or parcels of land to the said last mentioned Messuage or tenement
belonging formerly being in two parts containing by estimation six acres more or less and called or
known by the names of Freat Notts and Little Notts lying and being in the said parish of Leveland and
now in my own occupation
and also all that my other Messuage or Tenement barn stable and thirteen acres of land more or less
with the appurtenances situate lying and being in Challock in the said county of Kent and now in the
tenure or occupation of the Widow Spratt or her assigns
to hold the same unto my said son John Sills and to his heirs and assigns forever
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha the now wife of Thomas Humphrey the sum of twenty shillings only I having already preferred her
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Sills the sum of forty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executor at her age of twenty one years
Item I give and bequeath unto my wifes daughter Susan Wicks the sum of ten pounds to be paid her by my said Executor within one month next after my decease
Item all the rest residue and remainder of my ready money debts credits securitys for money mortgages in fee and for years shop and household goods working tools corn cattle chattles real and personal Estate by me not otherwise disposed of which shall remain and be left after payment of all my legal debts legacys and funeral expences and the expences of proving this my last Will and Testament and other incident charges I give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Sills his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever
And I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made
and declare this contained in three sheets of paper to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Testator John Sills have hereunto sett and affixt my hand and seal this
twenty fifth day of July in the sixteenth year of the Reign of King George the second and in the year of
our Lord 1742 � John Sills � Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator John Sills as and
for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request have subscribed our names as
witnesses hereto in the presence of the said Testator the words and all her linen being first interlined

The above registered Will of John Sills deceased was proved the twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty two Before the Reverend William Broadrisp Clerk lawful Surrogate to the Worshipful Edward Simpson Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of John Sills son of the said deceased and sole Executor therein named to whom administration of the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased was committed he being first sworn well and truly to perform the same.

William Sills of Badlesmere, ba & Mary Wise of Boughton Aluph spr married by lic 21 Sep 1749 at Bo Aluph.
