In the Name of God Amen I William Skeggs of Dartford in the County of Kent Wharffinger being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same Do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say
First and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the Merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour to have full and free Pardon of all my Sins and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor herein after named
And as touching the disposal of such Estate both real and Personal which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth

First I will that all my Debts and Funeral Charges shall be first paid and satisfied
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Skeggs all my Land and Premises in the parish of Shoreham in the said County of Kent in the Occupations of John Richardson and William Young to his use and at his free will and pleasure to sell and dispose of the same at any time

Item I give and bequeath to my said Son Thomas Skeggs all my Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever
And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Son Thomas Skeggs sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
And I do hereby revoke annul and make void all former Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

in Witness whereof I the said William Skeggs have hereunto set my hand and Seal this ninth Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty eight William Skeggs
