In the Name of God Amen The Third day of August In the yeare of our Lord God one thousand Six hundred fifty and Eight
I William Sladden of the towne and Port of Hythe in the Countye of Kent Lynnenweaver being Sicke and weake in body but of good and perfect mynde and memory (thankes bee to God therefore) doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme Followinge

First I give and bequeath unto Anne my Wife my Garden adjoynenig unto a peece of land called dentall Lane * in Hythe aforesaid To have and To hould to her dureing her naturall life
and after her decease then I give and bequeath the same Garden with the appurtenances unto Anne my daughter the now Wife of Thomas Cosbie of Hythe aforesaid Tayler and to her heires for ever

Item I Further give to my wife Anne the use of the bed bedsteadle and furniture whereon I now Lye and the three great Chests in the Chamber where I now Lye To have and to hold to her dureing her naturall life
and after her decease I give the same to the said Anne Cosbye my daughter and her heires and assignes for ever to her and theire owne proper use and disposure

Item I Further give unto my wife my Presse and my draweing Table to have and to hould to her dureing her naturall life and after her decease I give the same to the said Anne my daughter and her assignes for ever

Item I give unto my said daughter all my bookes in my house whatsoever To have and to hold to her and her assignes for ever
Item I Further give unto my said wife all the rest of my goodes Chattells household stuffe Pewter Lynnen Brasse Iron potts Tubbs and all other tooles and instruments of household whatsoever To have and to hold to her dureing her naturall life and after her decease I give the same and every part thereof unto the said Anne my daughter and her assignes for ever

And of this my last will and testament I make and ordeyne the said Anne my wife my sole Executrix And doe revoke and renounce all former wills and testaments by mee made and declare this to bee my last will and testament

Provided alwaies Nevertheles and it is my true intent and meaneinge that it shall bee lawfull for the said Anne my Wife at any tyme after my decease to sell or otherwise dispose of my Loome Slayes and appurtenances thereunto belonging in the shoppe for her maynetenance and Livelyhood and thinge before in theise presents conteyned to the contrarie notwithstandeinge

In Wittnes whereof To this my last will and testament I have putt my hand and seale the day and yeare abovesaid

This Will was prove at London The third day of January in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred Fyfty and eight before the Judges for probate of Wills and grannteinge administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of Anne Sladden his relict and the Sole Executrix named therein To whome administration was commytted shee being First sworne by Commission truely to administer.

Note: * dentall Lane is now called Dental Street in Hythe and runs parallel to the main high street.
