This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Sladden of the City of Canterbury Tallow Chandler and Grocer published and declared this twentieth day of August one thousand eight hundred and seven

I Give and devise all and every my Real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my loving Brother Isaac Sladden and to his heirs and assigns for ever

And from and after payment of all my just Debts Funeral Expences the Charges of Proving and Executing this my Will and all other incident Charges I Give and bequeath all and every of my Goods Chattels Effects and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature and kind or quality soever the same shall consist and be at the time of my decease Unto my said Brother Isaac Sladden his Executors Admors. and Assigns

I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said Brother Isaac Sladden Executor of this my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and Year aforesaid

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Sladden the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other subscribed our Names as Witnesses

On the eighth day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven administration (with the will annexed) of Thomas Sladden late of the City of Canterbury deceased was granted to William Sladden Joseph Frederick Hagell and Jeremiah Giles the Executors of the will of Isaac Sladden deceased whilst living the Brother sole Executor and Residuary Legatee named in the last Will and Testament of the said deceased they having been first Sworn (by Commission) duly to administer the said Isaac Sladden survived the said Testator but died without taking upon him the probate and Execution of the said Will. Exd.

Notes:
Thomas Sladden was christened 5th November 1765 at Christchurch Cathedral, Canterbury, s. of Isaac and Sarah Sladden.
Brother Isaac Sladden was christened 10th July 1767 at “Canterbury” and was buried, aged 40, on 29th September 1807 at Eastry.
