This is the Last Will and Testament of me Isaac Sladden of the Parish of Eastry in the County of Kent Yeoman Published and declared this eighteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and seven

I give and devise unto my loving Wife Ann Sladden for and during the term of hr natural life one annuity or yearly Sum of Fifty pounds payable quarterly in full recompense of her dower, the first quarters payment thereof to begin and be made at the end of in three calendar Months next after my decease And I Charge my Will Estate with the payment thereof with the power of distress in default of payment

I give devise and bequeath all my Personal Estates Chargeable as aforesaid and also all and every my Personal Estate unto all and every my Children Sons and Daughters equally to be divided between them share and share alike as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and to their several Heirs Executors Admors. and Assigns for ever

But I order and direct my Son Isaac Sladden to buy and allow out of his share unto and for the benefit of my said other Children the Sum of Four hundred pounds to be retained by my Executors

And I appoint my Kinsman William Sladden of Adisham Court and my Friends Joseph Frederick Hagell of the City of Canterbury Pastry Cook and Jeremiah Giles of Winsborough in the said County Yeoman Executors of this my Will and Guardians of my Children until they shall have attained their respective ages of twenty one years

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal Isaac Sladden

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Isaac Sladden the Testator in the presence of us who in the presence of each other Subscribed our names as Witnesses
Jeremiah Giles being first witnessed as one of the Executors and Guardians

This Will was Proved at London the twenty Fifth day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven before the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury awfully constituted by the Oaths of William Sladden Joseph Frederick Hagell and Jeremiah Giles the Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased was granted having been first sworn (by Commission) duly to administer. Exd.

Notes:
Isaac Sladden was buried at St. Mary the Virgin, Eastry on 29th September 1807 aged 40.
He was christened 10th July 1767, s. of Isaac and Sarah Sladden at “Canterbury”, Kent.
Brother Thomas Sladden was christened 5th November 1765 at Christchurch Cathedral, Canterbury.
