First I direct the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences by my executors hereinafter named out of my personal estate
I give and bequeath unto my niece Emma the Wife of Charles Hatfield Esquire of Hartsdown near Margate in the said County the sum of nineteen pounds nineteen shillings for mourning (she being already well provided for and not aneeding any pecuniary assistance from me)
I give and bequeath unto my Nephew William Sladden of the City of Canterbury Gentleman all sums of money which he owes to me and I desire my Executors to cancel and deliver up to him any securities I may hold for the same and I direct that this bequest shall notwithstanding the death of the said William Sladden in my lifetime operate and enure for the benefit of the executors and administrators of the said William Sladden and as a complete and perfect release of the said debts
I give and bequeath all the Rest and Residue of my personal Estate and effects whatsoever and
wheresoever unto my Sister Phillis Sladden Spinster to and for her use and benefit for and during
the term of her natural life
and from and after her decease I give and bequeath my said residuary
personal Estate and effects unto my two nephews Isaac Sladden the younger of Selson in the Parish
of Eastry in the said County Yeoman and John Sladden of the Parish of Ash aforesaid Surgeon to be
equally divided between them and their respective executors administrators and assigns as Tenants in common
Subject nevertheless to the payment thereout of the Sum of Two hundred and fifty pounds which I hereby give and bequeath to my niece Elizabeth Sladden the daughter of my Brother Isaac Sladden the Elder of Selson aforesaid when she shall attain the age of Twenty one years with the interest and accumulations thereon in the mean time and I direct that the said Legacy shall not vest in or be paid to her unless she shall attain the said age and in case the said Elizabeth Sladden shall de under the age of Twenty one years I direct that the said last mentioned Legacy and the interest and accumulations to arise by the investment thereof shall be divided between my said Residuary Legatees as Tenants in common
And I do hereby devise all my Messuages lands tenements and hereditaments as are vested solely in me upon any Trust or be way of mortgage in respect of which the equity of redemption shall be subsisting at the time of my decease with their respective rights members and appurtenances unto the said Isaac Sladden the younger and John Sladden their heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the nature and quality thereof respectively
Upon Trust to hold or dispose of the same trust estates in the manner in which they ought to be held and disposed of pursuant to this Trusts thereof and upon payment of the money secured on mortgage to convey or assign the estates in mortgage to the person or persons entitled thereto for the time being But I direct that the money secured by such mortgages shall be considered as part of my personal estate
And I declare that it shall and may be lawful for the said Isaac Sladden the younger and John Sladden or the survivor of them or the heirs executors administrators or assigns of such survivor to sign and give any receipt or receipts in writing for any sum or sums of money which shall be payable to them or him under the Trust of this my Will
And I hereby nominate and appoint the said Isaac Sladden the younger and John Sladden the Executors of this my Will
And Lastly I do revoke all former Wills be me made and I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Ann Maria Sladden have to this my last Will and Testament contained
in two sheets of paper annexed together set my hand to each sheet thereof this tenth day of April in
the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine
