First I give and devise all my funds property and all my other Properties of what nature soever
(with the exception of my gold watch chain & seals and my writing desk which I bequeath to my Son John Sladen)
unto my dear Wife Margaret Ann Sladen for the term of her natural life if she shall survive me and so long continue my Widow
And from and immediately after her decease or marrying again I give and devise the said funds property and all other properties of what nature soever unto my Son John Sladen and daughters Margaret Ann Sladen and Hannah Sladen and all other sons and daughters of mine (if any) that may be born subsequent to this date to be equally divided between them and paid on their respectively coming of age
In trust to my Brothers John Sladen and Joseph Sladen both of Folkestone in the County of Kent Gentlemen whom I appoint joint
Executors of this my last Will and Testament

On the 28th November 1853 Adm[inistrati]on (with the Will annexed) of the Goods, Chattels
and Credits of Henry Sladen formerly of Faversham in the County of Kent afterwards of Ilfracombe
in the County of Devon but late of Cardiff in the County of Glamorgan an Officer of Customs, deceased
was granted to Margaret Ann Sladen Widow the Relict of the said deceased and the
Residuary Legatee during Life or Widowhood named in the said Will she having been first sworn by Comon [Commission] duly to administer;
John Sladen and Joseph Sladen the Brothers of the said deceased the Executors and Residuary Legatees in trust named in the said Will
having renounced the Probate and execution thereof and also the Letters of Admon (with the Will annexed)
of the Goods of the said deceased as by Acts of Court appears.
Admon with Will of Goods unadministered granted at the Principal Probate Registry 17th February 1881 to Hannah Churchward and Joseph Sladen.

Administration (with the Will) of the Personal estate of Henry Sladen formerly of Faversham in the County of Kent afterwards of Ilfracombe
in the County of Devon but late of Cardiff in the County of Glamorgan an Officer of Customs who died 15 July 1853 at Charles-street Cardiff
left unadministered by Margaret Ann Sladen Widow the Relict the Residuary Legatee for Life if she remain a Widow was granted at the
Principal Registry to Hannah Churchward (Wife of Frederick Churchward) of 23 Windsor-place Cardiff the Daughter and Joseph Sladen of
Edward-street Cardiff Tobacco Manufacturer the Son two of the Residuary Legatees substituted. Former Grant Prerogative Court of
Canterbury November 1853.
