And I doe give unto the poorest people of Ashe aforesaid twenty shillings of lawfull mony of England to be distributed amongst them wthin sixe
monethes next after my decease by the discreation of my Executrix and overseer of this my last will or testamt.
And I doe give unto everie of my children (that is to say) Mildred, Sara, George and Susanna two shillings a peece to be paied wthin two
monethes next after my decease
And Whereas heertofore I paied Robert Crickman in mariage wth Jane my daughter nowe his wife six pownds of lawfull mony of England and yt
hath binne and yet is my meaninge that fower pownds more of like money should be paied unto him for her said mariage monye
I doe therfore bequeath unto the said Robt. Crickman the said fower pownds to be paied unto him in maner and forme followeinge that is to say,
Fortye shillings therof wthin one yeere next afte my decease and th’other forty shillings residue thereof wthin two yeeres next after my decease in
full payment and satisfaccon of and for all such some or somes of mony whatsoever due or paiable or heer to have pr[o]mised by me for and in
respect of the mariage of my said daughter Jane
And I doe furth[e]r give & bequeath unto my said daughter Jane forty shillings of like mony to be paid unto her wthin three yeeres next after my
decease
The residue of all and singuler my goods and chattells whatsoever unbequeathed (my funerall, legacies and debts discharged p[er]formed and payed)
I doe give and bequeath unto Margery my wife whome I doe make and ordayne sole executrix of this my last will or testamt
And I doe request my loveing freind Dannel Prise of Ashe aforesaid yeoman to be th[e ]overseer thereof

Firste I give and bequeath unto Margery my wife for the terme of her naturall life all and sing[u]ler my said mesuags or tents barne edifices
buildings gardens lands and hereditaments whatsoev[e]r scituate or beinge in Ashe Ellham and Stellinge aforesaid or elswheare in the said Countye
And yt is my will and minde that my said wife shall dureinge the said terme soe often as neede shall require sufficientlie upholde repaire and
amende all and singler the said mesuags or tents barne edifices and buildings and allsoe paie yeerlie dureinge the said terme all Lords rents
issueinge out of the said pr[e]misses
And yt is my meaning that after my said wives decease my mesuage or ten't malthouse garden Courte and hereditaments together situate or beinge on the Northside of Ashe Streete in Ash aforesaid that I latelie purchased of Thomas Cullverhouse And allsoe all that my mesuage or tent and garden together scituate or beinge on the Southside of Ashe Streete aforesaid the w[hi]ch (amonge other things) I latelie purchased of Edmund Baker abuttinge to the Kings Streete theare called Ashe Streete towards the North and to the lands of Thomas Harrison towards the East and South and to my Courte theare heerafter by this my last will or testam[en]t limited to be holden unto my three children, vizt. George, Mildred and Sara in Comon or meane towards the West
And allsoe that my mesuage or tent courte & garden together scituate or beinge in Ashe aforesaid the wch (amongst other things) I latelie purchased
of Robert Jarvice abuttinge to the lands of Thomas Harrison towards the East and to the drove way theare called Chillton drove towards the
West and South and to my outhouse and barne theare by this my last will or testamt bequeathed to Susanna my daughter towards the west and north and
to the lands of theires [the heirs] of Chri[stoph]er Hole towards the north
And alsoe all those my lands or hereditamts. whatsoevr conteyning by estimacon fower acres and a halfe be they more or lesse lyeinge in Ellham and
Stellinge aforesaid or any of them the wch I latelie purchased of ___ Sladden
shall remaine and I doe give and bequeath all and singuler the said prmisses wth their and evrie apprtenncs [appurtenances] unto the said George my
sonne and to the heires of his bodie lawfullie to be begotten
And for want or default of such issue of the said George I will and bequeath that all and singuler the said prmisses wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs shall remaine and I doe give and bequeath the same unto my three daughters (that is to say) Mildred Sara and Susanna and unto thieres [the heirs] of their bodies Lawfullie begotten or to be begotten equallie betweene them to be shifted and divided
And th[a]t it is my will and and intent that after my said wives decease my tents. or buildings wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs now in the
severall occupacons of Richard Yonge and Elias Jacob their or eyther of their assignes together scituate or beinge in Ashe aforesaid the wch
(amongst other things) I latelie purchased of the said Edmund Baker abuttinge to the tents. or buildings by this my last will or testamt. I
bequeathed to Sara my daughter towards the north and to the lands of Thomas Harrison towards the South and to the lands of John Prowde towards
the West and to my Courte aforesaid bequeathed unto my said three Children George Mildred and Sara to be holden in comon amongst them towards the
East shall remaine and I doe give and bequeath the same unto Mildred my daughter and to the heires of her bodie lawfully begotten or to be begotten
And for wante of such issue of the said Mildred I will and bequeath the same wth theire and evrie their apprtenncs unto my said Children George Sara
and Susanna and to the heires of their bodies lawfully begotten or to be begotten equallie amongst them to be shifted and divided
And yt is my will and minde that after my said wives decease my ten'ts and buildings now in the occupacons of Widowe Chapma(n) and Widowe Lewes
their or eyther of their asssignes, and my smithes forge and one little peece or p[ar]cell of and adjoyninge and lyeinge between the said smithes
forge and thaforesaid ten'tes and buildings now in th'occupacons of the said Widowe Chapman and Widowe Lewes together scituate or lyeinge in Ashe
aforesaid the wch (amongst other things) I latelie purchased of the said Edmund Baker abuttinge to the Kings Streete theare called Ashe Streete
towards the north and to the ten'ts or buildings bequeathed as aforesaid to the said Mildred my daughter towards the south and to the lands of John
Prowde towards the West ad to the said Courte by this my last will or testament limited or bequeathed to be holie unto my said three Children George
Mildred and Susanna in comon towards the East
shall remaine And I doe give and bequeath the same unto my said daughter Sara and to the heires of her bodye lawfullie begotten or to be begotten
and that wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs
And for wante of such yssue of the said Sara I will & bequeath the same wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs unto my said three Children George
Mildred and Susanna and to thieres [the heirs] of their bodies lawfullie begotten and to be begotten equallie amongst them to be shifted and divided
And yt is my will and meaninge that after my said wives decease that my said Courte and my well theare lyeinge together in Ashe aforesaid the wch
(amongst other things) I latlie purchased of the said Edmund Baker abuttinge to the Kings Street theare called Ashe Street towards the north and to
the Lands of Thomas Harrison towards the south and to the said mesuage or tent. and garden bequeathed to my sonne George towards the East and to the
tents. or buildings little peece or pcell of lande and smithes forge before severallie bequeathed unto my saide daughters vizt. Mildred and Sara
towards the west
shall remaine and I doe give and bequeath the same wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs unto my said three children vizt. George Mildred
and Sara and to theires of their bodies lawfully begotten or to be begotten to be had and holden in comon or meane betweene them for ever
And yt is my minde that the said well wthin the said Courte soe as aforesaid Limited to be holden in comon and th'enclosure on the north end of the said Courte shall be for the comon use comoditye and p[ro]fitt of my said three children George Mildred and Sara and their said heires & assignes be for ev[e]r heerafter upholden reedified and repaired by and wth such p[ro]portions of chardgs as by this my last will or testament are set forth and declared (that is to say)
That my said sonne George & his said heires and assignes owner or owners of the saide mesuage or ten't and garden to my said sonne George bequeathed scituate or beinge on th'east p[ar]te of the said Court shall beare th'one moietie thereof and that my said daughter Mildred and her said heires and assignes owner or owners of the said ten't and buildings to her my said daughter Mildred bequeathed shall beare one third pte of the other moitye thereof And that my said daughter Sara and her said heires and assignes owner or owners of the said tents. and buildings little pcell of land and smithes forge to her my said daughter Sara bequeathed shall beare two parts residue of the said other moitie thereof
And if any of my said three Children George Mildred and Sara or any of them or their said heires or assignes or any of them shall uppon reasonable
request refuse to beare contribute or allow his her or their said ratable p[ro]porcon for and towards the needfull upholdinge reedifyeinge or
repayring of the said well and enclosure wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs or any of them or any pte or pcell of them
That then and soe often yt shall and maie be lawfull to and for such of my said three Children George Mildred and Sara or any of them or their said
heires or assignes or any of them wch shall at any time or times happen to uphold reedifye or repaire the same or any pte thereof wth their and evrie
of their apprtenncs To enter into the ten't or ten'ts or buildings and other the prmisses thereof of such if my said three Children George Mildred
and Sara or any of them their saide heires or assignes or any of them wch shall soe refuse to beare contribute and allowe as aforesaid and to
distreine and the distresse and distresses theare soe had fownde or taken from thence to beare leade drive carrie away wthholde impound or keepe
untill such ratable p'porcon soe beinge behinde and unpaied shall accordinge to the trewe meaninge of this my last will or testament unto suche
of them wch shall soe happen to upholde reedifie or repaier the same or any pte or pcell thereof be fullie satisfied contented & paied
And it is my will and entente that after my said wives decease my outhowse buildings and barne together scituate and being in Ashe aforesaid the wch
(amongst other things) I latelie purchased of the said Robert Jervice abuttinge to the said drove way called Chillton drove towards the West and to
the Courte theare bequeathed to George my sone towards the East and South and to the lands of the heires of Chri'er Hole towards the north wth their
and evrie of their apprtenncs together wth free liberty of egresses and regresse in or uppon the said courte theare as well to repaier reedify and
amende the said outhouse and barne as to drawe fetch and carry away water from and out of the well wthin the said courte theare from time to time and
soe often as need shall require
shall remaine And I doe give & bequeath the same unto Susanna my said daughter and to the theires of her body lawfullie begotten or to be begotten
And for want of such issue of the said Susanna I will and bequeath the wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs unto my said Children George Mildred
and Sara and to thieres of their bodies lawfullie begotten or to be begotten equally to be shifted and divided amongst them
And Whereas I have heertofore granted unto John Prowde of Ashe aforesaid Yeoman one yeerlie rent chardge of three pownds of Lawfull mony of
England issueing out of all my mesuags or ten'ts lands and hereditam'ts scituate or beinge in Ashe aforesaid the wch the said John Prowde in
freindlie man[n]er hath often promised to surrender upp againe uppon payment of thirty pownds together with such arrearags [arrearages] thereof,
vizt. of the said rent chardge as shall be then due at one whole payment
Provided therefore allwaies that if Margery my said wife or her assignes doe not wthin three yeeres next after my decease well and trulie paye or
cause to be payed unto the said John Prowde his heires or assignes the said thirty pownds together wth th'arrerags thereof Vizt. of the said rent
chardge wch shall be then due at one whole payment for the redempcon or surrendringe up againe of the said yeerly rent chardge and th'orginall
Indenture of the grant thereof (if yt shall then please the said John Prowde his heres or assignes soe to accepte the same)
That then neyther Margery my said wife nor her assignes nor any of them shall from thenceforth have reape receave or enjoye noe benifite p'fitt
or comodity of my said mesuags or ten'ts lands or hereditam'ts or any of them or of any pte or pcell of them or of anye of them any thinge before
written or conteyned to the contrarye thereof in any wise or sot notwthstandinge
And then I do give and bequeath all and singuler my said mesuags or ten'ts lands or hereditamts soe as aforesaid bequeathed to the said Margerye to
th’aforesaid George my sonne for and duringe the whole term of two yeeres then next ensueinge after such default of paym[en]t by my said wife of the
said thirty pownds and arrearags or day of death of my said wife when? she my said wife shall happen to dye wthin the said three yeeres then the same
beinge unpaied the wch shall first and next happen of them
Provided allsoe that if the said George my sonne or his assignes doe not wthin the said two yeeres then next ensueinge after such default of payment
by my said wife or day of her death she soe a aforesaid happening to dye wthin the said three yeeres the said thirty powndes and arrerags beinge
then unpaied the wch of them shall first and next happen well and trulie paye or cause to be payed unto the said John Prowde his heires or assignes
the said thirty pownds wth all such arrerags as shall be then due of the said yeerlie rent chardge
and that at one whole payment for the redepcon [redemption] and surrendringe up againe of the said yeerlie rent chardge and th'orignall Indenture of
the graunte therof (if yt shall then please the said John Prowde his heires or assignes soe to accept of the same) That then and from thenceforth

And that then yt is my will and minde that all and singuler my said mesuags or tents malthouse edifices gardens and hereditamts whatsoever scituate or beinge in Ashe aforesid soe as aforesaid given unto my saide sonne George shall remain and I doe give and bequeath the same wth their and evrie of their apprtenncs unto my said three daughters Mildred Sara and Susanna and to the heires of their bodies lawfullie begotten or to be begotten equallie amongst them to be shifted and divided any thinge before written to the contrary thereof in any wise notwthstandinge

to be read and openlie declared and to the same have sett my m[a]rke and seale after th'enterlininge of (bee) ov[e]r the xiiijth line of the first
