In the name of God Amen the thirtenth day of Marche in the eight and twentieth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraign Lady Elizabethe by the grace of God Queene of Englande Fraunce and Ireland defender of the faithe [1585/6]
I George Snothe of Hoathfeelde in the cowntye of Kent Husbandman beeing sicke in bodye but of good and p[er]fecte memorye (thanks bee unto God) doe ordeyne and make this my present testa[men]t and laste will in manner and fowrme following (That is to saye)
First I comend my sowle unto the handes and tuition of Allmightie God trusting assuredly by his greate mercye and by the meryttes and passion of owr saviour Jesus Christe to attayne the place of eternall sulvation and my bodye to the earthe from whence yt came

Item I give and bequeathe to George Snothe my godsonne twentye shillinges
Item I give and bequeath to Richard Snothe and John Snothe my sonnes to either of them thirty poundes a peece to bee paid unto them as they come to their severall ages of twenty yeares

Provided allwayes and my very will & meaning is that yf my wife bee with childe wth a man childe then I will to the same childe twenty poundes of the threescoare pownde beefore willed unto my saide twoe sonnes to bee paide unto the saide childe at the age of twenty yeares
and yf yt bee a woman childe then I will to the said woman childe tenne poundes owte of the said threescoare powndes beefore willed to my saide twoe sonnes to be paide unto her at her age of twenty yeeres
And yf any of my said children happen to dye beefore the age afforesaide then I will the money beefore willed to him her or them soe deceassed to remayne and bee paide to the survivor or survivors of them at the age afforesaide

All the residew of my mooveable gooddes cattalls corne and debtes I will & bequeathe to Susanne my wife to th'intente that she shall therwith dischardge & pay my debtes legacyes and bequeathes, funerall charges and proove this my will
And I ordeyne and make the said Susanne my wife sole executrix of this my present laste will
and Jemmes Bridge and Christofer Sole my overseers
