In the name of God Amen The Six and Twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Four and in the seventeenth year of the Reign of King George the Second over Great Britain and so forth
I Stephen Solly of Westmarsh in the Parish of Ash next Sandwich in the County of Kent, Yeoman, being in reasonable Good health and of sound and perfect mind and memory (praised be God for the same) considering the uncertainty of this Transitory life and being desirous to settle that Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me do make and declare this my Last Will and Testament in writing in manner and form following (that is to say)
First I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for the Salvation thereof through the merrits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named

Also I do give and devise unto my Brother Michael Solly and his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Barn Outhouses Garden and Land thereunto belonging containing by Estimation One Acre more or less with the Appurtenances Situate lying and being in the parish of Ash next Sandwich aforesaid at or near the said place called Westmarsh and now in my own occupation,
he the said Michael Solly and his Heirs paying out of the same
unto my Sister Mercy Solly the Sum of Fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain
and unto my Sister Mary now the wife of John Read the Sum of Five pounds of like money within One Year next after my decease
which said Sum of Fifty pounds I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said Sister Mercy Solly and which said Sum of Five pounds I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said Sister Mary now the wife of John Read
And I do charge and make liable my aforesaid Messuage or Tenement Lands and premisses with the payment of the same unto them my said Sisters respectively within One year next after my decease

Also I do give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Solly all my Wearing Apparel and all my ploughs Harrows Rowls? and Implements of Husbandry whatsoever

Al the Rest and Residue of all and singular my Goods, Chattels, Ready moneys, debts due and owing unto me, Moveables and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (my debts, funeral Expences and Probate of this my Will being first paid and deducted) I do give and bequeath unto my said Sister Mercy Solly, whom I do make ordaine and Appoint sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament

And Lastly I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made
In Witness whereof I the said Stephen Solly to this my last Will and Testament in Two Sheets of Paper contained to each sheet set and put the day and year first aforesaid

The above Registered Will of Stephen Solly deceased was proved the 14th day of July 1747 before the Revd. William Broderip, Clerk, lawful Surrogate to the Worshipful George Paul, Doctor of Laws, Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted and Admon. [Administration] of the said deceaseds Goods so far as concerned the said deceased and his Will was granted (unto) Mercy Solly Executrix therein named she being first Sworne well and truly to perform the same
