First I give and bequeath the Sum of four hundred pounds three per Cents unto my Nephew Michael Solly of the Town and Borough of Deal
in the said County of Kent Gentleman his Executors Administrators and Assigns
Upon Trust that the said Michael Solly his Executors Administrators and Assigns shall and do pay and dispose of the yearly dividends
Interest an produce thereof as the same shall from time to time grow due and become payable unto Sarah Read of Ash aforesaid Spinster
daughter of my late Nephew Thomas Read late of Ash aforesaid Currier deceased during the term of her natural Life
And in case the said Sarah Read shall at any time happen to marry then from and after the decease of the said Sarah Read Upon Trust to and for the only use and benefit of all and every the Child and Children of the said Sarah Read lawfully to be begotten which shall happen to leave at the time of her decease shall live to attain the Age of twenty one Years equally to be divided between if more than one share and share alike and the same or his her or their respective Shares thereof to be paid transferred and assigned to such Child or Children at this her or their Age or Ages of twenty one years
But in case the said Sarah Read shall not at her decease leave any such Child or Children or if she shall leave such Child or Children and they shall all of them happen to die under that Age and without leaving lawful Issue of their or any of their Bodies then and from thenceforth my will is that the said Michael Solly his Executors of Administrators shall pay transfer and assign the said Sum of four hundred pounds three per Cents and the Interest and Produce thereof unto such of the Children of my late Brother Richard Solly as shall be then living equally to be divided between them and to their respective Executors Administrators and Assigns discharged of all further trusts
Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Richard Solly of Ash aforesaid Yeoman the Sum of two hundred pounds of lawful Money of
Great Britain and to his Executors Administrators and Assigns
Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Read of Ash aforesaid Cordwainer the sum of Forty pounds of LIke lawful money and to his
Executors Adm'ors and assigns
Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Robert Solly of Ash aforesaid Husbandman the Sum of ten pounds of like lawful Money and
to his Executors Administrators and Assigns
Also I give and bequeath unto Anna Philpott the Wife of Thomas Philpott of the Parish of Saint Lawrence in the Isle of Thanet in the
said County Husbandman the Sum of Ten pounds of like lawful Money and to her Executors Administrators and Assigns
Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Solly of the Parish of Hearne [Herne] in the said County Husbandman the Sum of Ten
pounds of like lawful Money and to his Executors Administrators and Assigns
Also I give and bequeath unto John Read Son of my late Nephew the said Thomas Read deceased the Sum of Ten pounds of like lawful
Money and to his Executors Administrators and Assigns
And I do hereby order and direct that the Payment of the said Annuity and also of the several Legacies by me hereinbefore given and bequeathed as aforesaid shall not commence nor become due or be paid unto the respective parties by my Executor hereinafter named until the expiration of twelve Calendar Months next after my decease
Also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew the said Michael Solly and to his Executors Administrators and Assigns the Sum of Fifty pounds of like lawful Money and also the Interest of all Principal Money whatsoever that I shall be possessed of or entitled unto at the time of my decease and he to receive and take the same to his use the space of twelve Calendar Months to be computed from the time of my decease as the same shall become due and payable
Also I give and bequeath unto Mary Solly of Ash aforesaid Spinster Six small Silver Spoons marked “M. S.” two long Silver Spoons
one marked “M.S.” and the other £S.S.” one pair of Silver Tea Tongs marked “M.S.” together with all my wearing apparel
Also I give and bequeath unto Daniel Read Son of the said John Read of Ash aforesaid Cordwainer my Silver Cup marked “R.M.S.”
I also give and bequeath unto the said Sarah Read daughter of the said Thomas Read my Bed Bedstead and the Furniture thereof
which I now use
all which three last mentioned Legacies shall be delivered to the respective Legatees thereof within two Months after my decease
And as to all the rest and Residue of my Goods, Chattels, Money, securities for Money, Debts, Effects and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever the same shall exist and be at the time of my decease from and after Payment of all my just debts, Funeral expences and the Charges of proving this my Will I give and bequeath the same unto the said Michael Solly his executors Administrators and Assigns
And I do hereby make constitute and appoint the said Michael Solly full and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament
And Lastly I revoke all former wills by me made
In Witness whereof I the said Mercy Solly the Testatrix have to this my last will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper affixed
together to the first Sheet thereof set my Hand and to this second and last Sheet thereof my Hand and Seal this
Eighteenth day of September in the thirtieth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third
by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith and so forth and
in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety

who have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses at her Request in her presence and in the presence of each other

This Will was proved at London on the twenty second day of August in the Year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety one before the Worshipful George Harris, Doctor of Laws,
Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne, Knight, Doctor of Laws, Master Keeper or
Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Michael
Solly the Nephew of the deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will to whom administration
was granted of all and singular the Goods, Chattells and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.

On the 31st October 1829 Adm'on. (with the Will annexed) of the Goods, Chattels and
Credits of Mercy Solly of the Parish of Ash next Sandwich in the County of Kent Spinster decd.
left unadministered by Michael Solly whilst living the Nephew and sole Executor named in the said Will
was granted to Mary Solly Widow the Relict & sole Executrix of the Will of Michael
Solly the Younger deceased whilst living the Nephew and surviving executor of the Will of the said
Michael Solly the Elder deceased having been first sworn by Com'on duly to administer.
The Will of the said Michael Solly (the Elder) having been proved in the Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury as the proper Ecclesiastical Court.
Note: Mercy Solly was buried at St. Nicholas, Ash-next-Sandwich, Kent on 25th March 1791, aged 79 years.
